New Year, new diet

Well I will be starting the new year about a stone heavier than I would like to be; due to both Christmas and general weight gain.
I was thinking of re joining slimming world, although I can't really afford it. I am terrible for losing and gaining the same 5lbs over and over again. Not only would I like to lose weight but I alaso want to get really fit too and improve my general health and well being as I suffer with depression and all too often am I drowning my sorrows of an eveing lately with a glass or two of wine and some chocolate.

I am going to try Paul McKenna again. It worked really well last year but a few tricky situations threw me off balance and I stopped using the methods.

It's a really sensible plan which doesn't restrict your diet but just gets you to listen to your body, pay attention when you are eating and stop eating when you are full. The only expense is the initial outlay on the book (from amazon it is about £7) which comes with a cd which you listen to each night - in bed or at bed time is the best time (I always fell asleep to it!).

Good luck Smile

I'm going to do myfitnesspal.com as I find it easy - and it is free. It is also v easy to keep track of everything as it is only counting cals.

I'm going to keep doing my weekly Zumba class, but will also be working full time instead of 3 and a half days so will be on my feet more every week anyway.

I'm going to start taking the kids swimming at the free family swim sessions on Sundays too.

I'm also going to go back to the habits that worked for me a couple of years ago when I originally got to goal with weightwatchers (old points system) - 3 meals. Keeping track of what I eat, but counting cals this time and no snacking apart from a bowl of cereal or porridge (within cals budget) if really hungry in the evening.

I have a dinner dance in 7 weeks as motivation. My parents bought me a lovely evening dress to wear to the dinner as a Christmas present. It is a size 14. I am currently a comfy 16. I can get it on and (to my surprise) even do it up, but it will look SOOOO much better if I can lose the best part of a stone.

I'm going to be trying to lose again this year- I have the Paul McKenna book/cd from the library so I'll be trying that alongside Rosemary Conley and using foodfocus! I love the graph on there to show your weightloss. June is my motivation, my friend is getting married so I want to look good as I've never mat any of her family. Though I have further to go, I need to lose at least 5 stone!
