I need/want to lose the stone that's still here since DD's birth. She's only 4 weeks old but before I get shouted at, all I'm aiming to do is cut out the crap since she was born, as we're slowly getting back into 3 proper meals a day and we're spending xmas and new year with my mum who'll make sure we're all eating properly.

Is it realistic/anyone want to join me by just cutting out snacks and second helpings? I eat enormous portions anyway, and if I'm genuinely hungry then I'll eat, have to be sensible after all, but the temptation to gorge myself constantly will be huge, so hoping this way I don't need to think about it too much, just gradually get out of post-birth habits. Might try and stick to one sugary treat a day, seeing as it's Christmas!

I unintentionally lost two stone when bfing DS2, which was great. I fed him until he was 12 months old, and six months later I'm putting it on again!Your approach sounds sensible to me. As long as you are eating proper healthy meals and healthy snacks, moats of water etc. Good luck!

If you are eating healthy foods and not too much processed rubbish and carbs you will feel better and the weight will come off. I lost about 9lbs with both kids in teh first two months by breastfeeding. I boasted about how I was enjoying eating the extra calories (500 a day needed apparently for bf) to my health visitor and she said not to do that, just eat normally and healthily and the weight will drop off and it did.
