Lunch ideas needed please

I posted this morning about a new breakfast idea i'm trying to aid some much needed weight loss; but I'm also now worrying about what to make for lunch to take to work.

Essentially in my job i don't get a lunch break, so anything i eat has to be quick and require minimal effort, e.g. nothing that requires assembly or heating up etc. Ideally i'd like to try and lower my carb intake as i seem to exist on bread and pasta at the moment, but I'm stuck for ideas.....................

My only thought at the moment is ryvittas and homemade humous with some veg crudites for dipping and maybe some cooked chicken breast for protein.

There's a good range of cracker type things that are really low in fat (well Waitrose has a decent supply).

I don't get a lunch break at work most days but those with humous and abit of fruit keep me going.,

Or slice pitta bread up and dip it into the humous.

Take in cut slices of raw carrot and cucumber and dip those in the humous?

My current lunch standby is avocado, tomatoes, cottage cheese, cooked chicken or ham and a hard boiled egg - chopped/sliced as appropriate and put in a plastic box with a yoghurt, banana or apple for pudding.

Or homemade veg soup you heat up at home then take in a flask maybe?

Do you have time to prepare stuff the night before or what places do you usually buy lunch at?

Soup in a flask. Its the only thing that satisfies me and keeps me filled up for a few hours. Have some crackerbreads with it - there is a brand that's only around 20 cals per crackerbread.

I work in a shop as the shift manager so its anywhere from 9 to 12 hour shifts depending on how the shops looking/ staffing levels, and i can be called away from anything I'm doing (including lunch lol) if there's a problem on the shop floor or tills or with a customer etc.

I think i need food which is non messy but is easy to grab, so I'm liking the idea of the crudites and humous ideas, especially the pittas. I always have these in the house as DS loves them for lunch, so I'll just switch to the wholemeal variety.

I'd love to take homemade soup, with lots of lentils and pearl barley etc to thicken it up but I'm very doubtful I'd get the oppurtunity to eat it, unless i had a cupful instead of cups of tea.

I like making evening meals that also taste good cold - I make a bit more than we need for dinner and take the rest into work. I just can't ever be bothered preparing a separate meal to take into work.

I have made veggie soup with lentils beans and taken in a food flask (£12 in john lewis) and I have added either shredded chicken or quorn mince to add extra protein. Make on Sunday for the whole week.
