Serves 2 adults and 1 x 4 year old

4 oz minced beef
large tin of chopped tomatoes
onion
garlic puree - an inch
tomato puree - a large squirt!
a carrot or two peeled and sliced
half a cup of rice (I use brown)
1/2 - 3/4 pints of water
a veg stock cube

Dry fry mince, chop onion and cook in microwave for 2-3 mins until cooked and add to browned mince. Chuck everything else in the pan turn down the heat and go and watch the rest of Richard and Judy remembering to get up every 10-15 minutes to give a stir or maybe add more water. Cook if normal rice for about 40 mins if brown about an hour and a quarter, serve with a smidgen of grated cheese, or without if feeling like being good today!

found this out my mistake when I forgot to turn on the veg for tea!

4-6 sprigs of brocolli, boiled/steamed
1 large carrot chopped, boiled/steamed
small tin of baked beans (I used the low sugar, low salt ones)
small tin tomatoes
freshly ground black pepper, I had lots but to taste
pinch of salt

blend it all up as smooth /lumpy at you want and heat through

This served 2 adults for lunch and was really nice - will be forgetting the veg again I think.

add garlic and tomatoes, stir fry for 2-3 mins. Season with salt and plenty of blck pepper, add basil and cook for 1 minute

Drain pasta and serve half to each person topped with steak and tomatoes

DELICIOUS!!!!!

We have aslo done the same recipe but with chicken/ turkey fillets

JenumGeranium · 06/01/2006 13:13

These all sound soooo yummy!

LoveMyGirls · 06/01/2006 14:06

erm dont know if i will get shouted at for suggesting this as its not as healthy as the other recipes but the weightwatchers farmhouse cake slices are really yummy!

on the healthy side invest in a slow cooker and a steamer - i got both for christmas and use them all the time we've had sausage casserole with veg n mash, chicken chasseur with mash, stew with dumplings, asda good for you curry with rice.

(The beauty for those of you that dont know about the slow cooker is the fact that you can leave it on overnight or all day and its ready whenever you get chance to eat it - e.g. the other day i made stew, at 7pm i put our 3 month old baby to bed she is teething and was screaming for about an hour, on the hob our stew would have been burnt or the bottom of the pan would have been by the time i got to eat it but because id used the slow cooker it was still piping hot and yummy )

i think normal ham can be ok in small amounts... not 100% sure though.

Your best bet would be to go for sliced gammon i would have thought

JenumGeranium · 07/01/2006 16:57

Ok cheers!

Just the smell of that turkey ham makes me barf for some reason

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 07/01/2006 16:59

i really like it, but hey, i probably have no taste buds!

Also Quorn - its fantastic and REALLY healthy - quorn mince, quorn sausages, quorn pieces for currys/stews etc

JenumGeranium · 07/01/2006 17:01

May give it a try!

Stir fry anything
The best fill-you-up low calorie meal I know
1 tsp olive oil
any veg going, such as , bean sprouts, carrots, courgette, squash, peppers, mange tout, shredded cabbage or sprouts (great for bulking out)onion
small amount of meat cut into small pieces so it looks a lot or prawns which are great as you can have more for the same calorie count as meat.
Stir fry the meat, take out and put on kitchen roll, add the veg and stir fry quickly. add meat or prawns and a splash of soy sauce. Cook half a block of dried noodles if you are really hungry but you can make a huge stir fry with just veg and it is very healthy!

peepee · 07/01/2006 19:27

Try using a splash of diet coke and balsamic vinegar instead of oil. Nice sweet and sour. Sounds nasty but actually quite nice.

jambuttie · 07/01/2006 20:34

Super Slimming foods (very fast effect) are Strawberries and Melon In what way???

Can i eat loads of it, and the weight falls off?

Will it fill me up too

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 07/01/2006 20:58

basically on SW you can eat as mush of them as you like, and they are really good for getting the weight off.

My old weigh in day used to be a Tuesday and all i would eat all that day before weighing in at 6pm would be strawberries and melon - i never lost less than 2lb a week for 3 months - apart from 2 weeks i was on holiday.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy - that milk you have, surely it's just normal semi skimmed milk? Do they charge extra for it being TGTBT?

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 07/01/2006 22:45

it was 74p for 2pts - be good to yourself stuff - different packaging to the normal semi-skimmed stuff.... im about to go and check it out now!

OP posts:
jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 07/01/2006 22:47

muller crunch corners are lovely. I like the pineapple one with muesli. They also do a red berry one with muesli.
Low in fat and you get 5 for £1.80!

Tuna Salad

Fresh Spinach
1x lemon
5+ cherry tomatoes
Fresh Basil leaves
Tin of tuna

Wash the spinach and basil leaves tearing up the basil as you go and once drained put on a plate. Add The tomatoes and the drained contents of a tin of tuna on top of spinach leaves. Finish off with squeezing 1/2 lemon to a full lemon over the tuna, spinach, basil and tomatoes.

I was reluctant to try this but it is delicous if you like tuna and filling. You feel feel full without feeling bloated.
