Anyone switched from Weightwatchers to Slimming World?

Have yo-yoed with WW for years now and am finding the thought of it soooooo boring!

I need to lose quite a lot of weight and so really need to stick with it for a good few months. Was thinking about switching to SW but am finding it quite difficult to get my head round.

Just wondering if anyone else has switched and found it a chage for the better?

The thing is that Weight Watchers have the two types of diet now which you can alternate between - are they called full choice and no count or something?
IMO no count is very similar to the SW diet, so I wouldn't see the point in switching.
Have you tried both types of Weight Watchers diets?

Have looked at no count emkana. The thing that is attracting me to SW is there is a small amount of allowed bread. Think I would miss it on no count!

Are you doing WW?

Can't you have bread on No Count if you include it in your points allowance? You have so many points a week (I think) in addition to the no count food you can eat (and can use them for anything: bread, wine, chocolate, deep fried lard - so loing as you don't exceed the points allotted). I'm not 100% sure how it works because I've only done 'counted' WWs - but it may be worth a try if you're sick of counting points.

I think marthamoo is right.

I did points counting with WW and lost four and a half stone - it really worked for me. (now pregnant though)

Did SW for one day, but couldn't stand it because all the things I was allowed to eat I didn't want.
Loved it that on WW I could have everything in moderation.

wow, emkana! Four and a half stone is impressive. How long did it take you?

ehm...

17 months

Am impressed not only by the weight loss now, but also by your staying power.

I just need to get on with it, don't I?

I did 4 stone on WW too. I really went for it after DD stopped b/f. Exercise 3 times a week, not using the extra points for food and dropped it all in 6 months. I went down 5 dress sizes and felt the best I'd ever felt in my entire life.

Do you think perhaps you need a good leader to motivate you? WW does work if you stick to it.

I think I was lucky as DD was so young I didn't ever drink wine or go out as she was a terrible sleeper - so no temptations with pubs or eating out.

I've been in Australia for 6 months and have been treating it like a holiday and have put on weight (haven't dared weigh myself but my clothes don't fit any more!). The sunshine makes me want to sit in the garden & drink wine and it's going to be much harder this time.

Good luck with whatever you choose. It is hard but honestly, if you get to goal it feels so much better than the satisfaction food would ever give you - when I got to goal and was tempted to eat something bad, I'd ask myself if it was better than being a size 8 and being able to wear anything I wanted and look good and the answer was always 'no!'.

I don't think ww no count and sw are anything alike though as you can still eat much more on sw ,as you still have to limit your portions on ww no count

I have lost weight with both and think both are good and work

If you love your food and big portions (lol, not me of course ) sw is a good one. But I do think you need to like a variety of food and have time to prepare and cook meals.

I used to have some lovely chips, egg and mushy pea's on SW!!! but I am not cook and didn't have the time to prepare meals. And ended up eating the same thing. Plus I am a fussy eater and although the recipies looked great they never appealed to me.

Whereas on WW you can't have as big portions but it is so convienient as you can buy micro meals and Tesco's healthy range also now have ww points on them

Hope that has helped
