AIBU to be annoyed at everyone at my weight loss class seeing my weight?

I didn't post this on aibu as I'm too scared I know lots of you will have been to weight loss classes like sw/ww etc.

I'm doing an NHS thing that's a bit like their equivalent of ww. The class leader has a register piece of paper where she writes down everyones weight every week but she is really indiscreet with it and I can always really clearly see everyone elses weight and their development.

I am perfectly happy to admit I am being precious about this it's only as I weigh the most of everyone . I just wondered if this was the usual way for ww/sw etc to do these things or if my leader is just a bit indiscreet (like when she announced to everyone in the class that I was bfing when I had told her individually - I don't care about people knowing but I felt it unnecessary in the context to say this)

Not unreasonable at all, its hardly going to encourage people to keep on going if they are worried about everyone knowing their weight.

I'm not sure about the best way to try and change the way its done but I wouldn't be happy about it.

glad someones thinks I'm not making a fuss over nothing lboro tbh she doesn't inspire me with confidence for many other reasons too. I wonder how they ote down weights at ww type meeting then?

At WW and SW it is completely confidential. It is writen on your own card/book. No one else see's it. Come to SW. I am a failed dieter of 40 years and I have lost 2 stone so far with SW. It's worth the money. Smile

That's exactly why no-one would ever drag me screaming to a slimming club! I don't think you are being remotely unreasonable.

julilee I've looked up SW but the times of meetings in my area I can't make. MIL has told me she went down from a size 20 - 12 using SW Shock and she is lending me all their literature so I might try that at home

Tbh I'm feeling quite unhappy about many aspects of her methods, the only reason I go every week is as she bullies me it's a free way to weigh myself, but she's OBSESSED with making me lose weight. I know I need to lose weight but feeling bullied into things isn't the way to go and telling me to eat stir fry instead of chips when I never eat chips and eat lots of stir frys any way I find patronising. Many other reasons I won't mention here though incase she hunts me down

I use WW online. It keeps me on track but is cheaper and none of the embarrassment.

sprinkles77 · 22/11/2011 19:02

she sounds really unsupportive. WW really is fab and works. I lost nearly 2 stone with them about 14 years ago and have re gained none of it. The woman was lovely and kind and discreet and encouraging. And people's weights, their losses and gains were never public property.

thanks, I forgot to mention that I told her I had pnd and found it all too much at the minute but she told me I should carry on. I can see her logic to it but when you are feeling so down you sometimes feel like there's no point in living the buden of feeling pressured into a diet feels too much.
