I've just found a diet/exercise plan that seems to suit me.

Fruit and yoghurt for breakfast
Main meal at lunchtime. Anything really like chicken curry and rice, baked potato and filling, pasta but low fat and portion controlled.
Small snack in the afternoon of yoghurt/fruit/low fat biscuits or crisps.
No carbs for dinner. I've been having chicken, fish or quorn with a whole load of veg (mostly green beans and sweetcorn)
1 cup of Options hot choc in the evening. I'm not a fan of articial sweeteners but this really jelps me to stop snacking after dinner.

half and hr Davina session every day.

does this sound good? I'm hoping to get some results as quickly as possible as all my clothes have got a bit tight. I need to fit into some specific clothes in 2 weeks!

I'm also doing 50 sit ups every night.

I'm very suspicious of low fat diets tbh. It's carbs and sugar that make you fat ime. It sound like you're eating quite a lot of carbs, even if they're 'diet' or low fat versions. I wouldn't touch low fat yoghurts with a bargepole, full of sweetners. If you have 2 weeks, go low carb. You can keep your evening meal, but substitute the beans and sweetcorn for something more green and leafy. Make lunch a huge salad, and breakfast some bacon and eggs or mushrooms. You'll lose far more in a 2 week period than you would doing it your way, as you're still eating crisps and biscuits, which no matter how they dress it up, aren;t good for you.

Have to say that I've been struggling to lose weight via WeightWatchers since January and it has been such slow going - even when I've been shredding at least 4 times a week. Losing a pound a week if I'm lucky is demoralising tbh. Stopped dieting and then decided to lose weight again.
Decided to try the low carb thing that everyone was talking about and thought it wouldn't be easy as I realise my diet was full of carbs - Special K, sandwich and crisps and rice/pasta etc for dinner (which all allowable with WW)
Anyway for breakfast having small portion of porridge (yes but good carbs!??) two egg omelette with cheese and salad for lunch and normal dinner with only a small portion of rice/pasta and am delighted that the weight is coming off quickly - 3 pounds a week or so.

Give it a go!!

I really hate low carbing. It makes me feel ill.
Also I don't eat bacon and I can't eat eggs if they look and taste like eggs. I know that sounds stupid but I just can't.
The crisps and biscuits arent every day by the way. Most days it's fruit as a snack and the yoghurt is yeo valley fat free vanilla or similar.

Roamin your diet seems more doable but aren't you hungry in the sfternoon? do you snack?

Is your porridge plain? and how small a portion is it?
Thanks.
I would love to lose 6lbs in 2 weeks!

The thing with low carbing is that if you do it right, you'll feel fabulous. You don't go hungry as protein is far more satisfying than things that give you sugar crashes. Fruit is included in this, I now don't scoff half as much as I did, I find it too sweet. It's not all eggs and bacon. WHy not have a look at the Pig2twig forum (not sure if it's still going actually, worth a look) and get an idea of how doable it is. It really works

Agree with fuckity!
I did ww for years, losing half a pound a week and often hungry. I have lost a stone in less than a month on dukan and I feel fantastic. I realise carbs make me fat - wish I had listened 10 years ago! I would have plenty fruit and veg, no booze, no sugar. Fill up on protein and water!

Jahan · 16/11/2011 21:15

Is tofu or quorn good on low carb?
I cannot eat more than one portion of meat or fish a day. I just don't enjoy it and I get moody.

Porridge is plain old oats. I was weighing out 30g and adding about 200mls of milk, microwave for 90seconds (high power!) and then add a little bit more milk. Discovered that if you put all the milk in at start it flows over the bowl.
However found an orange cylinder of oats in Asda and it has a scoop which measures 30g so use that now. It looks like teeny portion to start with but really does fill you up for hours.
Plus if I feel hungry I snack on apples and coffee (Jeez doesn't my life sound exciting?!)

To me it kind of makes sense that a lot of carbs are naughty ie biscuits, crisps, cakes - so cutting them out on any diet is going to help.
Also I find that the longer I'm eating this way, the easier it becomes - had (boring bit coming up) a lot of salad with a dollop of mayo and a bit of cod with cajun spices on top, baked in oven, for dinner and I actually felt full after it.

Jahan · 18/11/2011 16:17

Sounds good. I will try porridge.
I have been eating quorn, fish or chicken in the evenings with veg.

The good news is I have lost 3lbs since Monday! Yippee!
