OMG! I am not fat!

So being fat is my default position, with some justification as my calculated BMI is 28+. Today I got one of those electronic weigh in - analysis thingys which measures muscle, fat, visceral fat (bad stuff around organs) resting metabolism and wonder of wonders, ignore the calculated BMI as I am not fat; my actual fat is moderate, my visceral fat is also low and I have above average muscle percentage. Also, wonder of wonders, my metabolic "age" is 46 ( I am 59). So doc said matter of factly "you have no medical reason to lose weight".

I am still processing this...

Amazing! Well done! How do uo get one of the analysis things? I have lost 95 pounds and don't feel overweight but according to BMI, I am still 2 pounds into overweight.

Good for you. I find it amusing that I weigh half a stone more than DP's father did at the same age. He is 3 inches taller than me but was really fit at that age. I weigh over 11 1/2 stone but at 5"9 still look quite slim. I have got a lot fitter this summer but have lost little weight. I am really enjoying how strong my body feels.

Wiifitmama - I bet you would find that your BMI is not actually accurate, and possibly the same for Thistledew. I was going to a place called Weight Medics in London and they put me on one of these electronic scales that give a read-out. I know that these are around at some gyms and spas, too.

My weight is a result of being very muscular, way above average, and as a result, the amount of fat I am carrying isn't all that great.
It probably explains why I have been unable to shift much weight as my body is more or less in equilibrium, I guess. I have been eating between 1100-1500 cals per day for the last couple of years. It's kind of weird, as I should lose at that rate, but I don't.
