If I am honest I need to lose about half my bodyweight to be healthy. I really want to try so that I can be agood example to dd and hopefully ttcagain within the next couple of years.

The main problem is dieting actually, physically depresses me. The thought of being that way for the amount of time it will taketo sensibly and sustainably lose what I need to puts me off even starting.

I need help and I dont know where to start.

Ironically the only time I have managed to maintain a sensible diet was when I was preganant. I put on less weight than my baby actually weighed and I wasnt dieting just eating good things for the sake of my baby.

Please dig out your Paul Mckenna book as suggested by Forever and Ali. The wonderful things about it are;

  1. It's not a diet it's a life change, it educates yr body and mind in yr. attitude to food.
  1. It addresses all the emotional issues we have about weight loss, food etc.
  1. The C.D.s help keep you on an even keel.
  1. If you go off it you can just restart it's SOOO easy!
  1. The one rule I don't follow is the 'eat anything you want' because i don't think it takes into account the addictiveness of junk food. i have still lost 2 stone and am maintaining. Anyone can do it believe me.

I have to admit that I kept falling off the diet wagon because the weight loss was so slow and I felt that I couldn't keep up like that forever, so I started Cambridge and so far I have lost 21 lbs in 3 weeks which is great for me but it's not for everyone.

For the first 5 days or so your body is adjusting to the change and you feel a bit crappy not as bad as I thought it would be though.

Which ever way you choose to tackle the weight it will still take time so it is a good idea to view it as a plan for life. Cambridge may be quick but it's not a quick and easy fix! It's very hard to not eat anything (though I'm sort of used to it now) and when I come off it and do maintenance I will have to work to make sure the weight doesn't go back on, just as if I had done WW or SW.

Even if you feel that it will take a long time to lose the weight and you feel like giving up remember that the time will pass anyway - It may take 6 months for you to lose 3 stone which may feel like a lifetime, but if you give up '6 months later' will arrive and you'll be at square one still. Good luck x
