Hi all,

I'm on Day one of SW and completely lost. I'm just doing it from books a friend lent me. My husband and I are temporarily separated and my ds is only 7 months old so emotionally on a bit of a rollercoaster but I really dont want to comfort eat and have a few stone to lose so any moral support is particularly welcome!!

I'm doing extra easy (i think?!) but would like to hear from people who think red and green days work better.

I started back at SW a week and a half ago and am doing extra easy ( which I find very easy). When I used to go years ago I did mainly Red Days with the odd Green thrown in and managed to lose a fair bit of weight ( 2 stone) but found I was hungry.

Washappy · 23/05/2011 11:30

thanks squaddiewife.. any tips for doing extra easy?

i went shopping yesterday to buy stuff for recipes but i was wondering what are the lazy options. on ww on a lazy night i would have done breaded chicken and oven chips and it wasnt too bad.. could i have a ww ready meal?

thanks!

I am starting again next week (need to wait for pay day to join online & get a big shop in!) Am going to properly try EE, lost on Green days before.

Have you looked at Mininins website for ideas? Its fantastic, loads of info on it. You could syn a ready meal but not really the best plan on SW. Do you like Batchelors Pasta n Sauces? Some are free & some are v few syns.

Lazy on SW for me is leftovers from the night before, or syn free chips & egg syn free chips don't take much doing.

Mumelie · 26/05/2011 16:55

I've been doing SW for nearly 3 months now, EE is very easy! My lazy meal is ham egg chips (SW of course) and baked beans with some roasted tomatoes and onion. I like to snack on olives (1 syn for 8) and ham.
Just found out Sainsburys BGTY extra lean Cumberland sausages are only 0.5 syns each!!! Bangers and mash tonight!
The new EE 30 min meals cook book is great, cooked loads from it and only had it 2 weeks.

UrsulaBuffay · 26/05/2011 18:14

Is all ham free Mumelie? being used to green days I'm confused about free meat

maxcliffordslovechild · 27/05/2011 17:43

all lean meat and eggs are free on extra easy as are pasta and potato, which is great because you can eat normally saving syns for alcohol or chocolate!

BabesandJugs · 28/05/2011 11:24

Mind if i join? Grin

I'm doing SW at home - i was going to group and doing really well but lifes a rollercoaster for me too at the moment and i'm moving home on Tuesday - dd (7) is starting a new school and i'm not sure yet if there's a group convenient for me.

I have done SW a few times, and have always found it easy - i know it back to front and inside out - i just need to get back on plan as such and stop ordering a takeaway when i cannot be bothered, drinking alcohol without counting and basically get my ass into gear.

Any help you want then just shout! I may disappear Monday - Weds next week because of the move - but hopefully can get back on then!

I love EE Smile, i love trying new recipes too! lol

Quick and easy i'd say there are loads of pasta dishes, what about grilled cooked brekkie, or Omelettes? Tuna Pasta Bake, Pasta and Sauce, Cous Cous and Grilled Salmon, Spicy Chicken Pitta Breads and Salad, Potato Wedges?

Syn free Chilli or Spag Bol are a great idea - especially if you have a slow cooker. Meatballs, Spaghetti Carbonara, Steak and Chips with Peppercorn Sauce, Lamb Balti, Risottos, Potato Gratin etc are all faves here.

I find planning my meals ahead helps and also making sure i have plenty of low syn snacks in - Curly Wurlys are my fave, along with Skips, French Fries etc.

Also i love sauces and find i can make them in advance in batches, freeze them in small amounts and then just take them out to defrost. Then you don't have to spend time slaving over the hob. Just bang a chicken breast, gammon steak, pork chop or whatever under the grill and reheat your sauce (low or syn free bbq sauce, garlic mushroom sauce, sweet and sour sauce, parsely sauce, red wine and rosemary sauce, puttanesca for example!)

Oooops did i mention i talk too much! Brew anyone! xx

Can I join? Was just coming to see if there was a 'Slimming World' thread as I am starting on Monday and feel I might need some moral support or some ideas.

I have 2 stone to shift and none of the other diets I have tried have worked so this is my last option! Have never been to a diet club either so am really jumping with both feet.

Like the idea of the Sainsbo's cumberland sausages - was wondering about what sausages I could use for sausage and mash etc.

A couple of my friends are doing it and I have had a look at their stuff and it does seem like it might work for me (as I like to eat!) but am just a bit Hmm about all the planning and preparation that it is going to involve....but if I can shift 2lb a week, it will only be for 3 months so surely I can manage that???

ceebeegeebies · 28/05/2011 13:31

Babes the only meal that concerns me is breakfast. I am a cereal girl through and through but I am ok about stopping that but I don't have much time in the mornings so what can I eat for breakfast??

Also, how many syns are Curly Wurlies? And what other chocolate bars are low-syn? (You know, just for reference Wink)

weblette · 28/05/2011 13:33

Hello you lot, there is a group of us here

UrsulaBuffay · 28/05/2011 14:00

thanks for that weblette, I would never have realised that was a sw thread with such an awesome title :)

weblette · 28/05/2011 14:13

That would be the Bloof's idea, it's a lovely place to hang out :)

BabesandJugs · 28/05/2011 15:15

Oooh weblette i may have to pop along and join you there! Grin

ceebeegeebies You don't have to go without cereal! But if on an ee you would have to use a HE say for 2 weetabix and then a HE for your milk allowance too! Although have you tired fat free natural yogurt with some cereal - i even had a tip once to Mix a mullerlight with a sachet of plain oats so simple and chill it overnight - it's actually lovely and great topped with a banana or berries !! And you cna still use your HEA for cheese (my biggest downfall ha ha - i could eat cheese with everything all day!)

TBH my staple brekkie is fruit salad and fat free yoghurt such as Mullerlight or Onken (sooo versatile everyday can be different (think chopped mango, strawberries, any kind of melon, blueberries, raspberries and grapes mmm or oranges, apples, pears, pomegranate, kiwi). Alternatively i love a good omelette, sometimes scrambled eggs, bacon and beans Smile

And curly wurlys are only 6 syns Grin Grin Grin - i'll have a quick think about other low syn treats, but it's usually a two finger kit kat, or a penguin for example that are low syn! Oh and if you stick a Curly Wurly in the freezer it lasts for much longer Wink

ceebeegeebies · 28/05/2011 16:54

Babes I quite like the yoghurt and oats thing - I take it you mean sachets of oats such as those Quaker porridge ones? I could do that the night before - weekends are fine as I can do a cooked breakfast but it is the mornings in the week that are a bit hectic.

Are Mullerlight yoghurts syn-free then?

Do you know how many syns are in Freddos? Someone once told me that tip about freezing those which works as they last forever when you are eating them!!

UrsulaBuffay · 28/05/2011 17:08

Will join you on said thread in a few days...am working my way up to it slowly!!

Curly wurlys are a good use of 6 syns. Mini flakes that are kept near the ice cream in supermarkets are also good, I think around 2.5 syns each but I would eat the box Blush

BabesandJugs · 30/05/2011 10:05

Ha ha ha URSULA i think i'd quite piossibly do that too!

CEEBEE i'm sure freddos are 5.5, would have to check my directory but it's packed - arrgghhh.

Mullers are free apart from the dessert ones and the ones with compote in the bottom - they are 1-2 syns each Wink

And yep, i mean the sachet ones Wink

Well i'm not going to be around much until about Thursday due to the move!

See you soon! xx

m4z · 01/06/2011 01:11

I just thought I'd ask, can someone please explain the extra easy plan?

I joined last year but the leader didn't explain it much and I couldn't understand the book. I don't know why!

And then I gave up! Getting back to it now so if anyone can help, be much appreciated.

Thanks.
