aerobic exercise (running/spinning etc etc) and cutting down on carbs

to burn fat you need to do aerobic exercise like walking/cycling/swimming/running. Eat sensibly so complex carbs, fruit n veg, protein etc etc. Exercise wise to help strength and tone the lower abs google leg raises and the plank. But remember with any abdominal work to ALWAYS train the lower back. So hyper extensions/supermans/skydivers etc etc

Need to loose the fat, otherwise you'll have lovely toned stomach muscles hidden beneath the fat. Slendertone will not get rid of the fat. For me tummy doesn't look good until body fat under 25%, BMI around 22 but this will vary by person.

The best diet for loosing belly fat is one without refined carbs (ie need to cut these totally out of diet) - something like south beach diet.

There are loads of exercises for tightening stomach, different sorts of crunches - ie oblique, bicycle, and as melliebobs says leg raises, plank - probably best to get a DVD, 30 day shred has lots of abs.

Personally though I think bikinis are overrated - unless you have a great figure swimming costumes look better and even with a good figure I wouldn't wear one as I don't like the idea of showing that amount of flesh (sort of feminist type thing).

im not a big person, bmi is 21.always been very active, lots and lots of walkin, cycling.its just this one bit of flab that wont shift below belly button.hangs over jeans and i get self concious wearing tight clothes, i had a nice costume before that held it in,think i got it from boots but cant find another like it.

Had a look at plank and leg raises, ill give it a go.would love to go running but would prefer to run with someone else cause i wont push myself, ill get through garden gate and turn back round.
Ill have a look at cutting out carbs too,the bar of choc every other night prob dont help (as i munch on a wispa Mmmm)
Thank you for replying

There are swimming costumes around to hold it in, M&S have loads of tummy control costumes, just search for tummy control on their website.

Are you sure your stomach muscles meshed together again after pregnancy? (Lie on your back, tense your stomach and see if you can feel a gap). Assuming the gap has closed then think combo of no refined carbs and the exercises would make a difference.
