Is low carb the only way to go?

Hoping for a bit of advice. Just finished breastfeeding and really want to shift at least a stone.

I've been reading a few threads about weight loss and it seems cutting carbs is the main way to go... but I just can't face life without bread and potatos!

Is there an alternative or do I have to suck it up?!

Thanks

I have low carved in the past and tried again recently but really struggled. I am now trying the Paul mcKenna approach where I can eat anything. I am much preferring this approach as I don't have to count calories, carbs, or cook different meals. I can also eat out which I often have to do at work. I also did my first shred session this afternoon and now can't walk!!!

I tried low carb for 5 weeks and whilst i lost 10lb i also ended up on iron tablets as i was so anaemic and my hair fell out in clumps - 8 months later and its still not back to normal - DON"T do it!!!!

My view is that its the only way to go once you have exhausted the other possibilities - eg I lost first 2 stone doing tesco diets totals plan (I guess like weightwatchers/calorie counting, but weight loss then slowed down (and I got frustrated...) so moved to low carb.

e.g. Tesco diets totals plan basically lets you eat anything but fruit and vegetables have very low totals values, so amounts of proteins/fats/carbs are more limited.

i reeeally don't agree with low carb diets. You Need 6-11 portions of carbohydrate a day as energydending how active you are. Without it your body looks to other places as an energy source. The first one being muscle. So as long as your sensible with portion sizes and are eating complex carbs ie potatoe, brown rice, wholewheat pasta/bread there should be no cause for concern

I dont agree with any sort of diet where you deny yourself! I am also using Paul McKenna and that is the only weight control method I would recommend!
