If I lose and gain this stone once more I will scream! As soon as a get slimmish I just let it all go to pot and gain it again. I will not weigh myself as it will depress me but I am about 11st and I should be 9.5 - 10st to be at my "non-self-loathing" weight.

Someone else must be like me? Hold my hand and get slim for summer please - i'm going to do healthy eating/running. Starting today. Off to eat yog and strawbs for breakfast.

JaquiChan yes do have determination. But stand by what I said. Have seen my sister loose same stone so many times. She diets for 2-3 months looses it, goes back to old WOE and within 3 months she's gained it again. I see no point in bothering with the effort of dieting unless you are prepared to make permanent change.

I now prefer healthy low carb foods anyway, I don't want to eat bread/potatoees, pasta or rice. Chocolate, esp dark is harder for me, so in moderation...

JaquiChanFeelsBlue · 23/04/2011 08:57

Thanks for that forever. I bought SW magazine yesterday hoping for inspiration...am gearing up to start next week.

Coooooeeee!
Where has everyone gone? This is always the way with weight loss threads, I should know, I've joined enough Blush

Well my report in is that on day one I have had a good breakfast. Two small snacks (not good but my stomach is yelling at me) which I will count in my points - I'm doing Weight watchers online.

The big news is I've done my first session of 30 day shred.

Whether I'll be able to do it again tomorrow is a whole other matter...

Anyone else around?

Casey76 · 26/04/2011 13:43

I lost 1 and a half stone 3 years ago and now have put on double that!!!!!
I am so unhappy with my weight but I just can't seem to get motivated...I actually like healthy foods and have a treadmill but I just can't resist wine/lager especially on a weekend or sunny evening in the garden...my hubby drinks on weekends and I just can't resist joining him but where it doesn't make him eat more or not exercise it does me ...I just throw caution to the wind and sit and eat then wake up and feel like shit again...

tibni · 26/04/2011 13:54

I have now introduced little changes into my eating which I hope will be managable long term rather that going into this head first, having initial weightloss, reaching my target and then reverting back to bad old habits.

Biggest change is taking the time to make my food (rather than grabbing a load of buttered toast throughout the day). I am on call tonight so I am going to make a homemade veggie lasagne in the hope I will be home at some point to eat some with salad (rather than grabbing something on the road or not eating at all).

Gym work not upto speed yet with dc's about so much with holidays but I went Sunday and today and will go at least once more this week.

So how are you all doing?

I spent the weekend "finishing off", weighed in this morning......10 13, which is horrific for my height SadBlush.

I need a plan!

I was just thinking the exact thing that the title says!

I did ww a while ago - have managed to keep the weight off for 2 years but over the last 6 months it's started to creep up again. Now a stone over my goal - want to get it off!!! Owlets - those weights are exactly the same as mine!

My plan is to stop finishing off the dc food (again), really want whatever I eat, dust off the shred dvd and the couch to 5k on the ipod (again). I must I must decrease this bust (and stomach and thigh and other thigh and bum.....)

I found when I did ww that I like the competitive aspect (I know it's not meant to be but I used to go with a friend and always had to lose more than her!) so hoping joining this thread might give me a kick - don't want to be a failure!

Italiangreyhound · 28/04/2011 01:07

Fauxfox and others, hi, I've got a lot to lose.

I've lost the same stone about three times. I am no where near my ideal weight.

I joined my local Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness Class and I love the exercise. I decided to try and eat healthily too!

I'm also trying to work out why I overeat and deal with the emotions connected to it. For me this is impulse eating (I see it, I eat it, like that old joke - or even hear people mentioning a place to eat!) and I also think I have a fear of running out of food or being hungry and of missing out.

I think it's all science - food in, exercise out, but the emotions do really come into play too as they can 'force'/encourage eating when not hungry - I've even eaten when I was really not enjoying food, out of habit, and even to get rid of food! So basically used my tummy as a bin!

Anyway, I guess I just wanted to say that the emotional side is all part of it for some of us, maybe not everyone. If this rings any bells it might be worth looking into why you/we/whoever is overeating so that you/we/whoever doesn't keep loosing that same bloomin' stone over again and again!

All the best to you all.

Italiangreyhound · 28/04/2011 01:11

PS

Can I just mention that I have also started eating very slowly, trying not to talk and eat at the same time, to pay attention to my food intake, to eat mindfully, and to notice when I feel full - and to stop then. I take smaller portions now and eat slowly and don't feel worried to leave food on my plate! I believe our bodies do naturally tell us when we are full or nearly full but we do need to slow down enough to listen to that feeling/sense we are full.

MunchkinsMumof2 · 29/04/2011 18:02

Can I join please? this all sounds very familiar, put on weight - hate myself, lose it and then feel complacent and believe I am a person who can eats what she wants and bam it's back again. I am about 11 stone and should be 9.5 / 10 stone ideally, anyone got a plan that works?? Thank you!

Italiangreyhound · 29/04/2011 22:43

Hi Fauxfox how's it going. I didn't ask if I could join! Bit rude of me.

Hi Munchkinsmumof2

JustLikeHeaven · 01/05/2011 19:45

Hi, can I join too please. How are you all doing? I've started the Forever Living Clean 9... anyone do it? Its bloody hard but works and then I plan to low carb and keep up my walking. I am so sick of myself losing and regaining this same stone... have been doing that for nearly 10 years now. And like someone else said, when I lose a few pounds and a friend compliments me its like an instruction to go and stuff my face and before I know it, I've put all the weight back on and more.

Its not like a stone is even that much to lose... I read about ladies (and men) who lose 4 and 5 stone and I admire them so much... why is this stone so bloody hard? Well, the wine and nachos done help of course...

So, Good luck everyone, I am trying to think of having to get into a swimsuit when I feel like eating just for the sake of eating. I'm on day two of a 9 day detox and am so hungry I am eating ice cubes.... ridic!!!
