Cutting out wheat - does it work as a weight loss diet?

I'm in the final stretch up to my wedding and after being really blase have finally got the real motivation to tone up and lose the extra 10lbs I'm still carrying after DD.

I am excercising regularly, I had a trainer for a bit and worked out a fat loss plan of high resistance cardio and core stability exercies. I eat really well most of the time, prob a bit too much alcohol of a weekend, but I calorie counted for aaages in my single days so I have an automatic voice in my head that limits anything too high cal.

I don't seem to be able to shift this weight though which is pissing me off. I suffer from IBS as well so also have a bloated tummy a lot of the time. I do find that this seems to improve when I don't eat any bread or pasta, though it's really hard to stick to especially when eating with DP and DD.

Thinking about cutting out all wheat products permanently and wondered if anyone had done this and managed to lose weight? I could go back to calorie counting but it becomes obsessive and I hate the way I can't enjoy anything without logging it first to see if it's 'OK'

Would the wheat free adjustment be enough, or is it pointless without going the whole hog and cutting out all carbs? Any other suggestions?

I always bloat up a lot with wheat and find my stomach goes down dramatically when I don't have it. Would like to be able to not eat it but I love bread

I limit my intake of bread, pasta, potatoes and rice. It keeps me thinner. I would certainly give it a try, especially if I got bloat. It might really help.

Also no bread means no butter.

I do not stick to it rigidly, but I do find that the craving goes after a few days. You just get used to it, especially as I always feel so much better when I am bread free.

Yes, also have a look at the Dukan Diet, I lost 6lbs in a week on that.
