Lost a stone since Jan at 2lb a week... started exercising 45 mins a night 2 weeks ago and since then have put on a 1lb a week.
I am eating exactly the same.

Is this the whole muscle weights more then fat thing - or do i need to diet harder (i have pretty much cut out everything so don't see how i could diet further)? ...it is a bit disheartening.

I work as a clerk in weight watchers, and the amount of women who put weight on in the first few weeks of exercising is unbelievable. The leader always tells them to measure themselves as you might put weight on,but actually loose inches, and after a few weeks,it will settle down and the weight will start to come off again.

muscle does weigh more than fat,but you would have to be doing serious bodybuilding for that to apply,i think the muscles swell, and weigh a bit heavier but keep going and you will see the results soon, and well done you,on loosing a stone.

Hi,
Your body may well have gone into "starvation" mode. Because you are suddenly doing all this exercise it thinks to itself, "Blimey, I'd better hold onto some of this. She's trying to put out more than she's putting in!"
Don't despair. It will start to come off again, but do make sure you're eating enough. It's all maths - burning 3500 extra calories eventually burns 1 pound of fat.
Also, a pound of muscle burns about 20 times as many calories as fat, so in the long term, if you tone up slightly, over the course of a day, you will be burning more calories. It's a long process, so stick with it. It's worth it.
Other benefits of the exercise will be that your clothes will fit better, you'll get a better shape and you'll feel so much better.

Good luck.

Oh yes, keep drinking plenty of water as well.
