Hi not sure if right place but Iam currently on a healthy get slimmer and fitter campaign. Diet sorted and Iam going walking but would like to do an other form of exercise. I swim a little but am rubbish.
My problem is a few years ago I put my cartiledge in left kneee out and running is pretty much out.
I fancy maybe a dancing or similar class. Does anyone think this is possible or know what exercise would be the best for my bad knee.
I also over pronate but have properly fitted trainers with motion control.

Thanks

I have just got myself back into exercise and on sunday I twisted my knee, it hurts and I have not been able to run since! not sure what I have done to it though Hmm but my dh said if I wanted to do anything to do swimming.

I not sure how that would be for an old injury or if you could do anything else, knees are funny things and you have to be so careful, how about yoga? or aqua aerobics? Maybe you could go and ask a trainer at the gym what is more suitable.:)

Hi - I am actually under a consultant and physio for same thing - they've recommended to me walking briskly, swimming and exercise bike. But not road bike. You can control the tension on an exercise bike so keep fairly low but fast. Hope it helps a bit. I'm doing Dukan and walk briskly every day - don;t underestimate walking. I always used to but am much fitter since doing it every day.

I'm using the cross trainer at the gym, which is not weight bearing, and that seems to be fine.

Low impact - cross trainer, static bike, swimming, aqua aerobics, walking. Would be very cautious about exercise classes.
