Please tell me that some of you have done the same as me and actually lost some weight !

The gym is costing me 67 pounds a month and I intend to do some classes and a program.

My aim is to lose 2 stones.

First of all Well done on joining the Gym & WW.

Re gym - make sure you actually book into classes - that way you'll feel like you have to go. (it's what I did)

Make sure you mix up the cardio & weight bearing exercises - do some weights x

The gym is a lot money but if you go its worth every penny. I have been doing tesco online (I guess similar to WW) and gym 3x a week, now almost at target, just 3lbs left to 3 stone.

I try and do some exercise at home on non gym days, currently 30 day shred, was doing EA sport active on wii.

That being said the diet is the key... you should loose 2lb a week on average (for the first stone anyway) if its less then re-evaluate.

The gym is good if you go, otherwise it's a waste of money.
Wny do you need insurance?

Summerfruit · 01/03/2011 13:18

Thank you Joby, I'll do that ! I'm planning on doing yoga, aqua and aerobics !

Personally I don't think yoga/aqua (other than very fast swimming) will contribute much to weight loss as its very low impact.

Joby1970 · 02/03/2011 12:50

summerfruit. I think the idea is to do what you enjoy -however I must agree partly with foreveronadiet - as yoga (whilst great for flexibility & core) will not contribute to weight loss.

please make some time to do something like box fit or circuits or weight trianing.

good luck

foreverondiet · 02/03/2011 22:41

Obviously you need to enjoy it. But if you are joining for weight loss probably a good idea to have a chat with an instructor at the start and devise a programme and discuss which classes would be best.

Hi Summerfruit.

My advice would be to be careful if you do WW and also exercise a lot.

I have started quite a tough fitness routine this year, whilst also following WW. The problem I have found is that heavy exercise requires you to eat a high protein, high fibre diet, in order for your body to cope with the amount of exercise you are doing. WW points high protein, high fibre foods quite highly, and so makes you feel like you should be avoiding it more.

I have managed it, but by increasing my WW points allowance slightly on heavy exercise days to allow a protein shake, or extra protein meal after my workout.

Hope that makes sense! Obviously this only really applies if you are exercising heavily, including resistance training. Don't start eating extra meals every time you do aerobics Grin

Anyone who knows more about this than me, feel free to coma and correct me on anything. Am new to this and still learning Smile

smellmycheese · 05/03/2011 09:43

come, not coma (obviously!) Grin
