How to loose a flabby tummy?

I have recently lost close to 3 stone, I?ve gone from 12 stone to 9stone 5lb?s. I seem to be having a problem getting those last 5lb?s off and don?t know how to do it but that?s not really bothering me as much as my flabby tummy.

I lost the weight by doing old weight watchers points and I have been doing 30 day shred, which I think is building tummy muscle but it isn?t getting the my tummy flab off. shed is def building muscle because my arms are looking quite nice but my tummy is yucky Sad

So does anyone have any advice on how to shift the flab Grin

But is it flab or is it loose, over-stretched skin? Because if it is then no amount of exercise is ever going to get rid of it! I am not overweight but have a stomach that I can literally grab handfuls of and which looks like a deflated space-hopper! But the muscles under it are quite strong. My second pregnancy clearly stretched the skin too far and it lost it's inability to spring back. Exercise won't help that.

no its def flab! there must be something that can tighten up skin, maybe a thread about it would be usful.

I just bought the south beath diet book, and he claims that by following the diet your tummy fat will disappear. Not sure if it will work although my tummy is flatter since I started low carbing.

You can try skin firming creams although I am not that convinced.

how can you tell whether it is flab or skin?
i've lost 1 kg a week for the past 6 months and I absolutely hate my belly, even though i'm really close to my target. very depressing...
i think i still have a stone and a half to loose, it looks like it's all on my belly though iyswim

Its probably "flab":

Abdominal skin is different than the rest of the skin covering our bodies.

It contains subcutaneous tissue that stores fat -- it can store up to several inches. This is nature?s way of hoarding food stores in case of famine. The fat-free torsos featured in advertisements are only possible for 10 percent of the population, genetically speaking.

Extreme dieting to eliminate loose stomach skin can cause serious health problems, such as estrogen depletion, weakness and fractures. Even distance runners and the fittest people carry a little cushioning in the tummy skin. This is perfectly natural -- so, be realistic.

That said, don?t confuse excess skin with body fat. Average body fat for men is about 15 percent. Men who are trying to attain super carved abs can only do so with a remarkably lean body fat index in the single digits -- for women, it?s in the teens.

So, if you?re losing weight, be sure to give your skin time to adjust. Rapid weight loss doesn?t allow the skin time to adjust; you should only lose three pounds per week max.

interval training. start off on a bike and then go onto a treadmill. this will burn fat for longest even after you've finished exercising. try it three times a week. w

warmup 4 minutes. run / cycle at a fast but sustainable pace for 4 minutes run / cycle at a pace that makes your muscles burn for 1 minute / back to sustainable pace for 4 / back up to muscle burn for 1 / back to sustainable for 4 / cool down for four.

this will get serious results but is a killer.
