Post pregnancy weight...

I gave birth to DD3 2 weeks ago. I only put on 27lbs in pregnancy and have lost 10lbs since the birth but no more. I expected it to come down and down but it seems to just have stuck and I'm wondering if this is normal?

With DD1 & DD2 I piled on loads of weight and kept on eating post birth so it wasn't the same. That was 14 years ago however and this time my weight has been really well controlled. Bit depressing though if I'm going to still look pregnant & have to wear baggy clothes from now on in...I am breast feeding well and also thought that was meant to help the weight fall off.

Any advice/experiences to share?? :)

2 weeks ago Biscuit

If its any consolation I am now 9.5 months post birth almost back at target weight. I didn't start dieting until he was 6 months old (and I'd stopped BFing), additionally I put on 1 stone after the birth whilst I was breastfeeding.

2 weeks! I would give it some more time at least! I had my last nearly 5 months ago and lost about a stone and a half but still 2 stone to go... Now that's depressing! Sad

Good lord - it took me over a year to lose the baby weight first time, only 7 months second time (put on 3 and a half stone first time, 3 stone the second time). Give yourself a break, rest and look after yourself and enjoy your baby.

While bfing, drink lots of water and make healthy choices and the weight will continue to shift. After your 6 week check, take up exercise when you feel up to it -before then do some walking and your pelvic floor exercises - and am sure it will shift well before long.
