OK, am obviously keeping this very quiet in the real world, but I need to tell some people :)
I have seen a hypnotherapist for my weight!!

Last Tuesday I had a first session and today had the follow up, and I have to say its quite impressive so far. Last week was more counselling and digging to get to the route of things (albeit under hypno) and this week was planting the messages.

He was possibly the oddest man I have EVER met- kept talking about breastfeeding and prehistoric man- well woman actually -and that being the route of overeating/ bad habits but the hypno bit was very interesting with lots of visualisation and positive messages, and since then my food has been exactly what he programmed. 3 meals and no snacking- and no desire to snack at all!!
Of course its only early days, but I have my reinforcement CD to listen to, so touch wood!!

Wish me luck!!!

Hye mmuyosauraus
Thanks for asking, I weighed in tonight and lost 2lb, plus 1lb last week, so thats 3lb in 10 days, so fairly chuffed with that :)

Will post an update in a week or two as well :)

That's brilliant, and if you did it without too much pain, craving banned foods.

Will look forward to your update.

I'm a qualified hypnotherapist, and just wanted to say that hypnosis is purely a state of relaxation. You can talk, move, scratch your nose, whatever you can do in a 'normal' wakeful state. The problems come when a patient expects a sledgehammer effect, rather than a feeling rather like daydreaming.
It's not a miracle cure either, it DOES still take willpower on the part of the patient, and not everybody is receptive to the hypnotic state.
I myself would never use aversion therapy; it is far more effective to use positive suggestions and feelings but each to their own.
There are charlatans in the business, as with any other. Word of mouth is the best recommendation but failing that find one who belongs to a professional body and make sure they are qualified.
