I am 5'6" and weigh over 13 stone. This is 3 stone heavier than I was before I got pregnant with DS1, 4.5 years ago.

My clothes don't fit me, I look dreadful - my reflection has reduced me to tears on several occasions recently - and I feel so heavy and achey and fat.

In November I started using Food Focus for a fortnight or so and lost 5lb. But then I got ill, kids were ill, then it was Christmas and it all went to pot. And now I can't muster up the willpower to start again.

So what was it that kick-started you into action? Is it something very personal or can you transmit your motivation to me via mumsnet?? The only times before when I managed to lose a lot of weight were when I went to University and became in charge of my food for the first time (but I did take it a bit far then), and when I saw a herbalist about a physical problem and he put me on an exclusion diet (no wheat/dairy/sugar/meat/alcohol etc) but I don't feel I want to go to such extremes this time.

Can anyone offer their wisdom or tips? Thank you :)

Having a BMI of 30 = obese
Having a body fat of 40% = obese

My mum telling me that my weight was endangering my health (totally unfair as she is overweight and DS2 only 3 months old & EBF at time)

Not being able to wear skirts in summer due to thigh rub.

None of clothes fitting not want to buy new ones.

Looking really fat & not wanting to be that way forever. Weighing as much at 6 months after birth as at 39 weeks pregnant.

I have now been dieting since start of October. Its a long time to stay focused.
