The sagging tummy

Does it go away?

I've been doing the 30 day shred and wii fit and walking etc, but it feels like the more weight I lose the more my tummy sags...

I am assuming that this is because of excess skin where it stretched when I was pregnant.

Please someone say it at least reduces in size, at the moment I still look like I'm 4 months pregnant and it's wobbly and horrid...

How old is yr.baby? Are you b.f.? Did you have a natural birth? Sorry for all the questions but they are relevant!

HelenLG · 19/01/2011 18:59

He's 6 months, I'm still BFing and it was a natural birth in terms of it wasnt a c-section, he was induced at 40+5 because my waters broke but labour didn't start...

yes of course it goes. Try lying flat and move gently up from hips (keeping yr head in line with yr spine)...

ppeatfruit · 20/01/2011 08:50

...cont You'll only move 2 or 3 ins to start and you'e NOT trying to sit up. This is an amazing exercise it activates those floppy muscles. I can FEEL them after doing it!!

it depends how much it has stretched, excess skin itself cannot be toned but you can do a lot to make it look better, its not that long since you gave birth and it willl defo improve with time. Its fantastic you are still breastfeeding but be prepared that you may keep that little pouch for a while longer. I know a lot of people say bf makes you lose weight but in my experience the body tends to hang onto a little bit of something! Don't worry though, Im sure it will go. Be careful doing sit ups, you need to make sure you dont pull anything which is also a lot easier to do while youre still breastfeeding because everything is still a bit overly supple from when you were pregnant. Another thing you could try if you could bear it is going to see someone who will give you a good massage with some nice oils, I have a friend who does it and she made the skin on one of our other friends stomach look amazing after a few weeks when friend ahd been convinced she would have to have a tummy tuck! Be patient and do those exercises ppeatfruit suggested, they sound like a great start point.x
