Good diet for non meat-eater

Any suggestions? Either a good diet to follow or good recipes or a good book with recipes, etc. Need to lose some weight after stuffing rubbish over Christmas. Rest of the family eat meat but I don't (though I do eat fish).

Hopefully this page will come up!!

Rose Elliot is a fantastic vegetarian cook.
If link doesn't work go on to amazon and search Rose elliot low carb in books.

Thanks the link worked. It's the kind of thing I want although I might struggle with low carbs (will miss my pasta!). Used to have a vegetarian slimming book by Rose Elliot a long time ago but seem to have lost it.

I liked Closerdiet.com which you can be veggie on. You can tailor it so you could include fish but not meat. Good luck x

meanymum · 02/01/2011 19:25

Thanks Jellyrolly I'll take a look at that too.

Did you notice some of the Rose Elliot cook books on the link were only 1p add the p+p at a standard £2.75 they are not bad prices.

maybe you can replace your lost book?

I did the Rose Elliot slimming book diet years ago - it was good...... but Slimming World is better. (IMO). Unlimited fruit, veg, pasta, rice, beans, very low fat yoghurt/fromage frais.........
(an allowance of milk - cheese - cereal - bread - dried fruit - nuts etc)

and then syns (think chocolate/wine etc

Incidentally - lots of Quorn products are also free.

meanymum · 03/01/2011 18:21

Am liking the idea of the syns! (Think that's why I have to lose weight to begin with Smile) but don't really want to join anything as don't really have the time to attend meetings and the money to spare.

You could look at the Paul Mckenna website I Can Make You Thin.I have found this most successful 'cos you don't count cals or go to clubs, it re-educates yr attitude to food.

ppeatfruit · 04/01/2011 10:12

I follow P.M. And a healthy demi vegan diet. You can eat anything on it!

meanymum · 05/01/2011 17:57

I've got his book as well but never looked at the website. Will check it out now. Thanks.
