Im sure it must be bothering others, not just me.

Am doing the shred, and have been reading jillian michaels books, and have majorly overhalled my diet.
Am losing weight, slowly. And losing inches from the shred.

Im not really having any food cravings at all, but with so much food around its difficult to avoid. Also im finding people just saying ' eat it, you know you want to, its christmas'

Im trying to make good choices where possible. Like yesterday was out shopping with a friend, we grabbed a quick lunch, she wanted macdonalds. Instead of having a burger with bacon and cheese, and fries and a drink, I had a vegetable wrap, no fries and water. Not perfect, but better.

Ive realised for this to work its about long term, substainable choices.

BUT - xmas is a pain in the bum.

What is everyone else doing to make is less of a problem?

make sure you have healthy alternatives in the house (or with you if you are out & about).

Go mad on Christmas day - it is only one day - and have whatever you want.

& remember why you are doing this in the first place.

I'm doing slimming world and plan to stick to it in principle but am allowing myself 3 days 'off' for christmas eve through boxing day (big family so the celebrations are spread out over the whole weekend)

I'm hoping it's possible to relax without putting everything back on Hmm

3 days off.

Thats a good idea.

Guilt free eating, then totally back on track day after boxing day.

That is a really good idea.

I still plan on exercising every day.

And just make good choices the rest of the time.

Im fine with ignoring the sweets/cakes going round work, tomorrows xmas lunch is going down as my one cheat meal a week.

Should be fine then.

oh god it's so tedious isn't it. I'm on a diet for high blood pressure/high cholesterol (not that I am actually overweight on a BMI scaled but I've put on weight around my belly and I have to cut out all the 'nice' foods that are making my bp shoot up!).

I am starting to dream about crisps ffs so I better not see a snack bowl of them lying around at any point ;-).

I am not going to follow it on Xmas day (I like all the bad things too much anyway!) but will stick to it on all the other days.

redderthanred · 15/12/2010 16:29

yes. its damn tedious.
Sort of

Though to be honest, im seeing it as more of a long term, eating well thing.

But xmas day and boxing day are days for eating/drinking to excess arent they. There is no way of avoiding it really either...

So, i was thiking 3 days of eating whatever, but it only needs to be two. Plus if i shred on xmas day, and just have boxing day as a rest day.

Damn spanner in the works... why didnt i start doing this 6 months ago?
