I have read an old thread about this hypnosis CD and book. Has anyone used it recently and did the weight stay off?I am open to trying it?

Not tried it but did watch some of this on TV a while back. As well as the hypnosis there was a good bit of advice on there which was to eat when hungry (so your metabolism doesn't slow thinking you're in a state of starvation) but to eat slowly and stop when you are not hungry anymore. It made sense really and I liked the idea that you can use this method eating what type of foods you like as long as you listen to your body's signals of when to stop. Suits me better than calorie counting or avoiding certain foods.

I am also interested in this but wonder how it would work when eating with the DC as they have to finish everything on their plate?

cupofcoffee · 05/11/2010 20:59

Why do the dc have to finish everything on their plate though GGM? I questioned myself about this previously as I was always telling them to eat up, but I think my children are more inclined to eat what they need and don't over eat just to clear their plate (as I do Blush). So now I say to them that if they are full then fine don't eat more of their dinner. I do make sure they are aware that they will not be getting something else to eat in 5 minutes though and that they are not allowed to abandon their dinner with the plan of stuffing sweets instead.

GreatGooglyMoogly · 05/11/2010 21:55

DS1 would eat nothing if he could as he would rather do anything else (especially talk). He is underweight even with us enforcing the finishing meal thing.

ppeatfruit · 06/11/2010 14:11

shattered mum IMO it is the best diet ever 'cos it re educates you attitude to food. great googly is yr DS happy and lively?Imo forcing anyone to eat is not a good idea.

ppeatfruit · 06/11/2010 14:25

Also shattered if you forget the' eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full' rule you can just go back to it. I do and have lost 4 kilos in 2 months!

shatteredmumsrus · 10/11/2010 17:47

wow thankyou everyone. I must admit I always finish my plate! Will conciously stop when full. I have been really goos this week. I have no scales but do feel slightly slimmer

P.M. says its best to weigh every 2 weeks which takes the obsessiveness out of it IMO.If you google Paul Mckenna I Can make you Thin it has vids of his shows very helpful!

vintage4 · 11/11/2010 10:41

yes it works i have lost 5 stone and i am keeping it off. Obviously i exercise as well but this cd and book was at the back of my weightloss especially the aversion therapy Managed to give up my lifetime addiction to crisps(i`m 47) like that> snaps fingers .I only weigh myself once a month if that ,Its brilliant to be a size 10 again and sometimes an 8 which has never happened

ppeatfruit · 11/11/2010 12:40

Wow vintage that is amazing I really do think it is THE BEST diet ever !!

Melty · 12/11/2010 09:16

It didnt work for me. (Maybe I gave up too soon though) But also until recently would never feel full until conmpletely stuffed, so stopping eating when full was difficult to achieve.

For me I have to do it the old fashioned way- eat properly with less crap! (Am doing Slimming World.)
However I did find the hypnosis DVD to be fantastic for getting me off to sleep though! Grin

octopus the title of The Beck book is what P.M. says, which came first I wonder? Is there a big difference in the detail?

Thanks oct. It sounds like they both have a lot to offer I don't use P.M.'s CD (I watched his telly progs) and on google and have lost 5 kilos in the last 3 months or so.

ppeatfruit · 13/11/2010 13:44

So it's what suits you IMO.

hi yes sorry i was talking to you.Yes the dietician helped in as much as it was a goal to get weighed each month in front of someone and feel good at weight loss but i don`t think she was much good at actually helping me lose weight as such.Just nodded a lot as i rambled on. I stopped going after i lost about 2 and a half stone as i felt i did not need help any more .I was grateful to her though
