Has anyone tried this/doing it at the moment? I am type O and I have bought the live right 4 your type book and am going to seriously attempt the diet. I need to lose a stone. Does anyone want to join me? Further info can be read on here:

well - that makes complete sense.
I have read all about my type (A) and it is almost 100% correct.

I will be trying to do what it says and might get the book for xmas.

Thanks for this conquita - you might well have solved the problems I've had nearly all my life, with allergens, weight gain and wondering why I find it so easy to eat veggie foods.

Well, in one week I have lost 2 kilos. Let me just add some history here. I walk twice a day, don't drink alcohol, have been watching what I eat for at least the last year or so. Yet cannot get below 70kg no matter what I do. I meal plan so I know exactly what we will eat each night when I go food shopping, and take my own lunch into work. I drink soymilk and have cut out all dairy, apart from the odd bit of cheese every now and again for calcium. However, because of said boringness of lack of alcohol etc I do have a small cup of soy milk hot choc each night and five a couple of mcvities digestive biscuits to go with it.

So I bought the eat right 4 your type book in a blaze of recklessness and started to eliminate the avoid foods ths week. And yes, have lost 2 kilos. This is a week before my period is due, when usually I balloon by at least 4 kilos.

The plan makes sense to me, when I go through a day of cutting out the nasty stuff I feel 'lighter' and that was in the space of a few days.

I am also incorporating this with using the food focus web thingy so I can log what I am eating and also the weight loss. If anyone is interested I will keep updating this with the progress. I hope to get down to 65 kilos which is the right weight for me according to my BMI. I am 72kg right now. This time last week I was 74kg. Grin

Interesting to hear about your experiences, I bought the book years ago on the recommendation of a homeopath but never followed the diet. (I'm type AB) I bought the book when I was single so I want to know how do you follow a diet which involves eating different foods from the rest of the family. (DH loves cooking and tends to do all of it). Suggestions welcome

I have read some negative reviews since posting with regards to each blood type - people saying that there were many food cross overs for each blood type and that certain diseases appeared in all blood types, that you may as well just eat a sensible diet.

I'm not sure really- starting WW this next week so will see if that works but will take note of the general theories about my blood type (A).

I do like the bit about how Type As should do gentle, relaxing exercise Grin. I never could run long distance - phew!

ppeatfruit · 05/11/2010 12:20

I have been on the blood type diet for years iam an A my DH is O. It's great for yr. health but I also use the hay diet for weight control.

ppeatfruit · 05/11/2010 12:25

i also am on the Paul Mckenna 'cos it gets harder to stay slim as you get older! But at 59 I have no health probs at all!! The blood type is FAB.

ppeatfruit · 05/11/2010 12:31

Wisteria you are lucky as an AB, you can eat almost anything! check out yr family's blood type they may be similar to you. you can get books on all the types.

extremepie · 15/11/2010 00:41

Hey, I'm an AB too, we're a rare one! Never tried the diet though, maybe I will..

Akkad · 15/11/2010 00:52

The long narrow paragraphs are doing my head in.

Quite interesting how blood type affects your diet.

conquita · 15/11/2010 02:41

Well whilst doing this diet, I have not particulary lost weight, I am putting it on, and then it comes off again, but still I cannot get below 70kg. But apparantly my blood type O needs aerobic exercise 3 times a week, so I have started training myself up for running 5k in 9 weeks using the podcasts someone mentioned on another thread. This is on top of my walking to and from work four days a week. Hopefully with the addition of this exercise the weight will start to drop.

On the flipside, I feel great, I look healthier, I feel 'right' inside, I don't react to my food like I did before, and I am going to stick with this plan for a while longer to see if this good feeling lasts.

Is it the bloodtype website that does your head in Akkad? I have had problems in the past with trying to find out which foods I can or cannot eat. On the website it comes under the heading - 'Typebase food values' it would of just been easier for them to say 'what you can and can't eat'.

I've got the encyclopedia which has all the types, the books are easy to follow. There is a group based in London on Facebook if you're interested. Another thing to do is eat fruit BEFORE meals.

conquita · 15/11/2010 08:13

ppeatfruit, how do you/your husband manage to plan meals with your husband being a different bloodtype to you? I think my partner may be an A too.

I have read all the books! I got the encyclopedia one out of the library and was really interested in what they say about stress and how it is worse for you than smoking or drinking.

Also, what do you normally eat for breakfast?

Conquita he has always loved meat and i have never liked it(before i knew I was A type) so I eat the veg and he cooks the meat, he is not into the blood type anyway BTW he is fat and unhealthy!!

ppeatfruit · 15/11/2010 11:44

I make non wheat bread for breakfast (even my DH eats that!) or we buy the rye bread from Waitrose. Also porridge and molasses, I make a seasonal fruit smoothie sometimes.
