Treadmill advise anyone

I am a big fat fatty - I blame the PCOS to some extent but I seem to have had a breakthrough recently and have sorted out my eating habits but my problem now is exercise. I have a Wii but he effort it takes to set it up and get all the bits out blah blah blah means i can't get round to doing it - it also means using the TV so depending on when i do it I have my DH or my DS watching which i don't really want when i'm bouncing around.

So i'm thinking of getting a treadmill - i have had the bright idea of putting it in the lounge (with DH's okay) so that it's always looking at me and I can do while i watch telly (my most time consuming past time) - and it would mean DH can watch TV or play his games and DS could do what he wanted.

So my question is this - what make is good? Obviously i'm not loaded so was thinking £400 would be the top end i could afford and I'm 18st so need one that takes that weight.
Has anyone got one from tesco or argos or amazon that was any good?

I've read reviews but i'd like the opinions of mums and people i can relate to.

Thank you

Ps i don't want to go to the gym because they generally have people in them and I'm too self conscious.

I'm hoping this the time in my life where the excuses stop and i can be slim again.

Thanks again in advance of helpful advice

x

Hi I have a reebok fusion treadmill that I got off ebay for £300 (plus £50 delivery I think) - it was new but an ex-display model from a shop & retails at £1000 so definately start by looking on ebay. I used my treadmill a lot (before having ds2 & breaking my ankle) and have just started to use it again. Mine is in the corner of the lounge & I use my Ipod with headphones - you can get a holder for it that straps round your arm especially for running. I never mastered running & watching tv without feeling like I was going to fall off! I think mine has a limit of 16st tho so check this but defo look on ebay! good luck Smile btw I lost 2.5stone

I really would think about leaving dh at hoema nd going to the gym - for 400 you coudl nerly get a years membership and noone gives to hoot what you look like- honest

I have seen larger ladies join my gym and get slimmer over the months and I think good for them well done for trying and gettign soemwhere

Go along, my gym instructos are not all skinny minis either one lady is around a size 16-18 and lovely

They will sort you out with a program and not just walking ont he treadmill and workign upt o running - bnut rowing and stepper or cross trianer all differnt stuff to keep you going

OH has a Reebok treadmill - I think it's the i-run. We bought it from Argos last year - think it was £379 or thereabouts. It can be folded for storage so doesn't take up much space.

Until recently I used it 3 x per week, but have been suffering with a cold for the last couple of weeks. Planning to get back onto it in the next week or so. I use my iPod and the Nike+ and have the TV on with subtitles.

Otherwise I just get bored!
