Insane appetite while BF

Hiya, does anyone have any top tips? I'm not trying to lose weight, what I want at present is to curb my deranged appetite. Never known anything like it, could eat a meal every time my little man does.

I think my body is clinging to every calorie cos of the BF. I'm so hungry iI haven't even tried to ration myself. I think I get so hungry i would gnaw my hands off if the fridge was locked. Anyone else like this? Not helped by being in a lot and near the fridge though i guess.

Has anyone else been through this and did you manage your appetite some clever way? I am not thirsty...I am drinking about 3 litres bottled water a day!

Many thanks, xx

Yeah, I was just like you. . .and I had friends like that too. I think some women just sort of waste away under the caloric demands, and otherslike uscan't stop eating. I just went with it. . .I ate when I felt like it. In both cases it was 2 yrs before I was back to pre-pregnancy weight, but I was never oveweight, exactly, even at my heaviest. Sorry I can't offer practical tips, just reassurance that you're not alone.

I definitely ate more when bfing but still managed to lose some weight. I think as long as you stay away from junk food it should be fine.

charliecat · 05/09/2005 17:46

Oh yeah, and craved more things than when I was preganant too. Lost weight though.

cheers guys, i no longer feel so freakish. maybe if i stop obsessing gently over it it'll calm down a bit.

Hi Merryberry! I'm starving all the time too, really quite gross in my appetite. It wasn't bothering me until today when I saw a photo of myself (taken this morning on DS2's 1st day at school) and realised I look like a "before" picture from a diet magazine! Now I'm sulking and navel gazing, if only I could find my navel...
