Hi, I need to loose some weight and what seems like a huge amount of fat . Since I stopped breast feeding ds2 just over a year ago, I have been very gradually putting on weight. I'm still not huge, but big for me.
I would like to loose about a stone, but have never had a weight problem and love to snack and eat all the wrong things,(always got away with it before now) and I drink coke .
How can I find the will power to resist these things ? Can anyone suggest a plan to follow that would be easy with 3 children , as we do tend to eat together.

One lapse - curry on Friday night then an ice cream. Net result, 3 1/2 lbs lighter! How's it gone for you Bensmum?

bensmum3 · 13/09/2005 08:13

Good start, Bensmum!

bensmum3 · 15/09/2005 21:41

Well, I've completely blown it tonight, my brother is here for a week, and went on a daytrip today, came back with a carrier bag of sweets and chocolate for the children , and cooked us curry from a jar with popadoms and 2 bottles of wine . Not looking forward to monday, will have to do lots of walking over the weekend.

if you can manage to stop all fatty and sugary food completely for about 2-3 days, you'll be amazed at how disgustingly oily/sweet the "no-nos" taste! go on, try it. i dare you!

Noidea · 16/09/2005 16:55

Aaah, never mind, Bensmum. There'll always be those sort of times where you have to 'force' yourself to eat bad food! I'm sure you'll make up for it

Noidea · 19/09/2005 08:32

Lost 1 1/2 lbs this week - 5lbs in total. Dp said I look much slimmer already (knew there was a reason I lived with him!)!
How are you doing Bensmum?

bensmum3 · 19/09/2005 20:43

I knew my brother being here would blow it, too much wine and chocolate . But not all's lost, I haven't put on any more weight (probably cos I carried his dd aged 4 in my ergo for 3 days).
Well done Noidea, You keep giving me inspiration.

Not very inspirational this week ,I'm afraid
Didn't each rubbish but knew by Saturday morning that I hadn't done very well and totally blew it over the weekend. Now 1lb heavier than I was this this time last week.
Never mind, off to a good start again today!

Hope you've been better than me, Bensmum!

bensmum3 · 28/09/2005 10:20

Sorry for the delay, 1/2 lb lighter this week. Thought it might be more as I tried really hard, Oh well, maybe next week

Wahey, I weighed myself yesterday and I have lost a pound! I have swapped my chocolate biscuits for nuts and raisins, as I still need a fairly high calorie intake because I'm breastfeeding, and it seems to have worked. I've also got a neighbour who is keen on losing weight too, so we call on each other and walk through the woods and back (about two miles). It really helps having someone else to motivate me.

ScrewballMuppet · 01/10/2005 08:15

I can't stop/won't stop eating crisps and chocolate so had decided to allow myself one of each a day and to eat as normal though perhaps trying to change something really unhealthy for a more healthier option and on top of that I've been going swimming regularly and I'm loosing weight, a pound here and there whish is starting to add up.

Noidea · 03/10/2005 08:36

Well, somehow, I've managed to lose the pound I gained last week. Don't deserve to have lost it though!
Well done everyone else

bensmum3 · 06/10/2005 23:13

Well done Noidea, you must have done something right . I seem to be failing miserably at posting on a monday, went away this week, but back tonight, and still no significant weight loss, I will be away for 2 weeks from this weekend too, but when I get back, I will try really, really hard to loose some pounds, will look forward to your good news too.
Mioau, I agree, it helps to have someone else to motivate you,(either through MN or in RL), well done, hope you are all well.
