Wave the bump wand and bing the Gizmo fairy appears!

Thank you Beetroot for the kind recommendation (though I think she might still be suffering from a runner's high). Be warned I do a lot of running so that is what I know best - not diets or pilates (tho I do a bit of yoga from time to time) but if you want a bit of information or support in the exercise area I'm happy to try and help.

Unfortunately I have (alledgedly) to do some work - like go into a meeting - for most of this morning, but here are some questions for you to chew on in the meantime:

  1. what do you want to achieve? how quickly? What about in a year or two's time?

  2. Tell me about your life? How much spare time, help and money do you have to throw at this?

  3. what sort of activity do you have experience with and what sort do you like?

  4. what experiences have you had with dieting and exercise in the past?

Hope those aren't too big/scary we can talk about them later.

ooh, i'd like a trainer too, please!

Gizmo · 02/09/2005 10:52

warning I am not a trainer - I am a runner with a mumsnet habit .

But...can't resist an opportunity to crack the whip same questions to you sansouci!

sansouci · 02/09/2005 10:54

understand about not being a trainer Gizmo but i've lost all motivation since we came home. am eating too much & not excercising. i need a swift kick & don't seem to be able to administer it myself, IYSWIM!

Gizmo · 02/09/2005 15:15

What do you normally do, Sansouci? Before you went on holiday, I mean.

Hi Gizmo!

Basically I want to lose weight and increase my disgraceful fitness levels. I would like to start by losing 2 stone preferably before christmas. I do seem to hold a lot of water and feel "water logged" at times. I dont think I eat a lot and I am crap at exercise. I own a rebounder, a cross trainer, sit up door bar, and one of those sit up abs trainer things. I try to do about 6 lots of 100 jumps a day and about 15-20 mins on cross trainer. I think I probably need to detox after the summer hols now and feel sluggish again. I cant swim but feel too fat to even pour myself into a cossie but this is an aim when I am slimmer/more toned. I dont work at the moment but do have to drive my children to school so even that is out of reach at the moment. Due to lack of work I also have lack of funds but could swing a few bob out of dh for sexual favours

So, you have quite a bit of kit, half of which is specific to your abs and half of which is aimed at general cardio vascular?

And you're doing 45 - 60 mins total a day on the cardio stuff?

Gizmo · 02/09/2005 16:25

...not including the (paid-for) sexual favours

jampots · 02/09/2005 17:33

believe me the sexual favours dont add up to much
