Help. New to dieting. what are the merits of the different diets?

I need to lose around 1.5-2 stone. Truth be told, before children I didn't ever have to think about what I ate, and I've never had to diet. Until now. So, I'm not used to denying myself "treats", or even really having to think about what I'm eating. I do't do much exercise, but walk as much as I can.
So, ladies, which is the best diet plan for me to begin with? Weight Watcher? Slimmers World? Scotish Slimmers? or this "Shred" thing I've seen mentioned on here?

Which, in your opinion, would be the best for me?

The trouble with diets is that they eventually end.
Try writing down everything you eat for a week and see where you can make easy changes. If it is a matter of exchanging a few sweet things for veg/fruit or cutting out some fattening things then you will manage to do that much more easily than starting a whole diet plan.

Exercise will help of course.

I managed to cut out chocolate, coffee, wine and cheese when I thought they were the triggers for my terrible migraines. They weren't!

thanks Nannytwotime. I've ct way back on the amount of biscuits, chocolate, crisps etc I used to eat, but its made no difference Sad
Will try a food diary, though, think it will be good to make me think about what I eat on a daily basis.

Register with food focus (its free) and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to lose weight then you can log all your food on there too. You'll be able to see where you can make changes.
