Which fruit on low carb diet

Am not religiously following any diet, just trying to not eat pasta, rice, bread, potatoes, cakes and biscuits to shed the stone and a half am still carrying 9 months into motherhood - am clear evidence that the breasy feeding makes you lose weight theory is nonsense!

I'm semi-veg so am mainly eating veg, fish, pulses, eggs and fruit. oh and snacking on nuts and a bit of dark choc.

But was wondering what fruit is good and bad? I get a lot of stuff for my baby and she'll normally eat some and I finish it off. We usually eat blueberries, apples, pears, bananas and nectarines. Have been steering clear of the bananas as they must be fatty, but what about the rest?

Also veg wise, is all veg ok? Or things like squashes, parsnips be avoided?

Thanks for advice

are you doing low carb? or low fat? you cant do both as you wont get the nutrition you need. also, being vegetarian and doing low carb is much harder, as most pulses/beans etc have quite high carb content.

personally, i am following a sort of modified atkins. i stay away from all rice, pasta, potatoes, coscous, bread, flour etc. have meat/fish/chicken/eggs etc and lots of veg. i try to limit my fruit as its usuallyl very high in sugar, BUT i like fruit, so my idea of a limited intake is probably still over five pieces of fruit a day. bananas are meant to be the worst, but i think that processed fruits tend to have a higher sugar content than unprocessed stuff.

if you are being very strict, then you need to stay away from carrots, but if youwere doing that, then you wouldnt be having fruit or pulses either.
lots of luck

Berries are best. Blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries etc. And lovely greek yoghurt on top. I recoemmend the frozen ones - cheaper than the fresh ones.

Not bananas or nectarines.

The less sweet apples are OK but quite sugary.

Not 100% certain on all the fruits but I know that berries are the best bet, especially blueberries. I'm sure someone else will be along soon to give you more advice!

Personally I cannot comprehend a diet where you can't eat as much fruit as you want (except avocado pears). It's so ridiculously good for you. Bananas are an excellent source of potassium, which can be hard to get elsewhere on a veggie diet.

For me, I would never, ever be able to sustain limiting fruit, so I haven't ever done it since I've changed my eating habits. I've now lost nearly 3 stone since I was at my heaviest. It has taken a long time, but I feel that I could eat this way forever, whereas limiting a massive part of my diet would have just made me feel resentful.

jmo obviously, and good luck!

Thanks for the advice - waqs going to try doing modified Atkins too ladysybil but didn't realise pulses were banned.

Think whatever I do, i need to keep pulses as they are my main protein source.

Fruit is good for you but only when eaten on an empty stomach eg have a smoothie for breakfast.
