Anyone used Adios Max?

I am on medication which I know has caused me to put weight on and is also stopping me losing it even though I am eating carefully and exercising. I am wondering about getting some help to see if it can kick start my metabolism and hopefully reverse the side effects of the other medication I am on.

Any advice? TIA.

The only thing you'll lose is money

trainsetter · 31/07/2010 18:07

If that is the case, why are the manufacturers allowed to sell them as a weight loss product?

Because people are gullible enough to buy them. If they worked they would be lauded as a miracle pill and available on the NHS. As it is, they are herbal nonsense aimed at women who are desperate enough to try anything. Sorry.

trainsetter · 31/07/2010 18:13

No need to be sorry. I am desperate. It is affecting my mental health as well as my physical health. I know I won't look like the lovely lady on the adverts but until I started on this medication I never put any weight on other than a few pounds around the time of the month.

Is there any way you can alter your medication then? Your GP should see that significant weight gain is an undesired side effect and may be willing to try something else?

He doesn't believe me that it is the tablets.

how much exercise do you do?

trainsetter · 01/08/2010 09:52

40 minutes of high impact/hard level most days.

Maybe it is more a placebo affect but since I started on the tablets I feel as if I am eating less. Part of it is I want the tablets to work and I want to lose weight. I know I have to stay in the ADs and I am sure my GP will be loath to change me to different ADs so I have to try what I can. I am unable to exercise atm so this is all I can do atm.

Record your weight gain and show him. Or book an appointment with another GP.

If GPs actually responded to issues like this in the normal way (i.e. by going OK, that appears to be making you gain weight, let's put you on something different) the NHS would spend a lot less money on treatments for obesity.

I put on 2 stone when I started on the pill when I was 18. If the GP had put me on a slightly different pill, I wouldn't have experienced the weight gain, but he didn't want to put me on a different one because it was slightly more expensive.

I was 11 stone 9lbs when my baby was 2 months old. He is 5 and I am nearly 2 stone heavier than that.

Are you sure the adios won't mess with your medication? And why did you say you do 40 minutes exercise when you then say you can't exercise? I think the best exercis eyou can get isthe stuff you don't notice- taking the kids for a walk, to the park, to the ducks, that kind of thing. But from the sounds of it, and sorry to be harsh, you are kidding yourself how much exercise you do, which in all likelihood means you are also kidding yourself about how much you've been eating.

trainsetter · 02/08/2010 17:56

Up until these last few days I have been doing 40 minutes, I can't now due to a problem with my arm.

No, I am not kidding myself as the timer is on for the exercise and I know I am not eating enough sometimes and then too much late in the evening.
