Slimming world without going to meetings, anyone successfully done it?

I was going to Sw meetings a few months ago, and it was working really well, but I just can't make it to meetings anymore, no childcare, and totally skint as well. Definitely can't afford the online membership! So has anyone followed the plan themselves? How did you keep your motivation up without going to class?

well you cant go to weight loss meetings for the rest of your life so I think its best to go it alone and just use your weight loss as motivation enough.

could you still do a "public" weigh-in by doing a graph or chart and sticking it somewhere (i.e your fridge) so that you can still track your progress and motivate yourself that way?

of course, if u have a friend or family that do it with u is great so u can help each other,my sister does it at home and weighs herself every week at the same time at the same boots branch, so she gets accurate result.

if u really want this a meeting wouldnt stand in ur way, go for it u no how to do it, just swot up on the books and mayb get few on line recipes they r free

good luck to u

i'm the same. cant afford to go, she talks so much the meetings last 2 hours and no one will babysit that late every week so i'm going it alone. started today after a few months off so i hope its doable!

i'm using my fitness pal website to track things, i find that pretty good as it is, but eating SW style rather than calorie counting.

To be honest, when I didn't go I only managed to maintain. I find meetings, although cheesy, quite motivating.

Maybe you could ask your GP about any dietitian services in your local area. There are various healthy living schemes at the moment so you should be able to find something.

There's a clinic near me that does a drop in session with an NHS dietitian. You turn up any time in the 2 hour session and get weighed and have your BMI and waist measurement worked out. You can also ask questions or get leaflets. You'd be able to take DC's too if you're just getting weighed I should think. It's called 'Drop In To Weigh In'. I go every week but you can go less frequently if you're very busy. I know a lot of London PCTs do it.

As it's NHS it's all free. I find it so much better than the WW meetings i used to go to.
