Wedding dress shopping on Oxford St?

I'm going wedding dress shopping this Saturday on Oxford Street. I was advised to book a slot at Debenhams, which I've done. I haven't booked anywhere else, nor do I know where I should try (if it's not too late ). Any suggestions?

I was told that high street dept stores have dresses in a range of sizes where independent shops often only have one dress of each type. That wouldn't bother me particularly though.

I thought I would love wedding planning - but finding it hard to fit in around a 3month baby! Aargh

It's probably out of your area - but I went shopping with my 6 month old in Wimbledon. They had 2 independant wedding shops - All that Glitters and another shop on the high street near Morrisons. Wimbledon also has Elys which has a wedding dept (though wasn't too impressed by that).

Found Wimbledon to be really good esp with the baby. Got my dress from All that glitters - they had loads of choice (and cupcakes which made the trip even better).

Sorry can't help about Oxford St. Good luck with the wedding planning - I found it quite a hard slog with looking after the little one too!

Thanks - Wimb close to where I used to live (Sutton) - but in Hastings now so it's got to be Central London.

John Lewis no longer have a wedding dress department!

There's a designer wedding dress stores behind the plaza, I've forgotten it's name now but if you walk round the side of plaza past WH Smiths there is a bridal store there.

its called Caroline Castigliano, it seems to have lots of wedidng dresses (in the windows anyway)

Actually here, take a look at the listed bridal stores.

I got mine in a House of Fraser Oxford St concession - try the floor with all the formal wear. One of the Oxford St Dept stores also stocks great range of wedding brand shoes

Pronovias - just off Oxford Street, behind Bond Street tube. Looks incredibly expensive, but some of the dresses are surprisingly affordable (and they often do good discounts).

I don't know anywhere on Oxford Street but what my friend did was find the dresses she liked on the internet then ring around all the local wedding dress shops to see who stocked them.

Here are some of the ones she liked:

Maggie Sottero

rosemary leigh

cecilia

carmella

kay

Khloe

Ronald Joyce do nice ones aswell. My friend likes Jenny and Ginger.

Nieve veils, tiaras, hair clips and brooches are also nice.

Is there a big Monsoon round there that stocks the wedding dress range? (I bet there is, but no time to google right now). If so, definitely worth going there.

Also, I second Pronovias - big range of styles. They are generally in the £800-£1500 price range.

Don't bother with Caroline Castigliano - verrry expensive (£2000+), and very pushy sales people.
