How to make an elopement wedding with children feel special

My partner and I have been together for decades and have 2 kids - 7 and 10. We got engaged last year and are now getting round to thinking about the wedding. We're not interested in a big expensive wedding and are thinking of eloping somewhere with our kids and no guests (appreciate we'll need witnesses).
I'm really struggling to picture the day! If you did this, how did you spend the day? It can't take more than 30 mins to actually 'get married', and with it just being us and the kids I'm not sure how to make the day feel really special. We go for meals often so feel we need an activity perhaps?
If anyone has any venue suggestions too I'd appreciate them. We're in the NW but wouldn't rule out going abroad or travelling in the UK.
Thank you in advance if you got this far,

If you’ve been living together for decades and have two children it’s hardly an elopement, just a wedding without a big party.

Where ever you get married it should feel special because you are getting married. In this country, get married early and then do something fun with the children that they will remember.

It’s not an elopement.

What would you like to do?

we did this. We spent the morning by the pool, had a nice lunch then got ready & got married in the afternoon. The hotel made it nice & special by decorating our table & giving us a bottle of champagne for dinner & decorating our room with just married, another champagne & a little cake to share.

It was a really lovely day for everyone (DH & DSS)

We eloped with our kids to America, got married and then had a fab holiday. How far would you consider?

Hi, congratulations!!

I’d say have a good think and do something that feels authentically you, something the whole family will enjoy and remember.

If you’re considering going abroad, Morocco is a great location and family-friendly. If you’d like any help or suggestions, feel free to send me a message 😊
