Bra for backless dress

I'd really appreciate some advice if anyone has had this issue before.

Im trying wedding dresses on, the ones I love are either very low back or sheer lace back, so I need either a bra with very low straps or a bra that has a completely clear back. I can't find anything in my size which is a 34G.

I ordered some body suits from john lewis with a low back, in L and XL and they were way too small on the cup size. My dress size is usually 10.

Does anyone have any ideas ? I've thought about taping but I dont want tape showing up to my neck.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated , thank you! All products I can find dont go up to a 34G!

Thank you!

What about a stick on bra .

Painrelief · 26/07/2025 20:24

Actually scrap that , it’s almost impossible it seems to find one in a G cup ….

Could the seamstress sew two pads into your dress bodice at the front?

You can get a low back adapter from places like Bravissimo to convert any normal bra. You’ll lose a bit of support but that would happen in any lower backed bra. Ultimo also do a good low back bra up to a G cup.

You need something built into the dress.

Is the dress not constructed with built in support support, i.e. boning and cups? If not, cups can possibly be added.

That stops at a DD though, no use for a G cup

Edited

Oh I’m usually an F but just checked and I do have a DD in this. Sorry!

Find the best solution for you before you commit to a dress please (I am a very good bra fitter but not a miracle worker!)
The low back converters are of limited/no use on a fuller bust.
A bra in an almost identical skin colour/tone or a shade darker will be far less visible than you'd expect and that's been a solution for many tricky situations.
If you can find a dress with enough structure and support that you don't need to wear a bra (ideally without any significant alterations) then you're sorted.

Curvykate.com may have something that works.

Exact problem DD had! Seamstress sent us to find a bra, any bra that fitted really well and we ended up with a bright orange one found in a clearance box for £5. I was prepared to pay any money to get it right so a great find. Seamstress got her to put the bra on with the dress so she could see what needed to be cut away - straps, back, some orange lace, etc. Then she stitched the whole thing into the dress. No worries on the day - bra couldn't be seen and her dress was exactly as she’d planned.

Having this problem myself in a 32 FF and a size 10. Lots of beautiful dresses but can’t seem to find a solution. Can’t wear tape or stick on bras as I’m allergic to adhesive :(

im no help what so ever to the op but glad of the other suggestions here and just wanted to say you’re not alone haha

Thank you all for the comments ! I have since tried on lots of bridal dresses with boning and they all provided support without a bra, which is much more costly than an off the peg dress but definitely a soloution for those of us with a bug bust! I decided to go for a needle and thread dress which i can wear a 'normal' bra with, going to treat myself to a rigby and pellar! Thanks all x
