Wedding day idea

Planning to get married probably next year. Partner is now (recently) clean after years of being an alcoholic.. I don't want a big fancy wedding with loads of guests so it will just be family and maybe a couple of friends but that's about it. I'm worried about planning though. Ideally there will be no alcohol involved at all. So just wondering if to do registry office and family meal etc. I would be happy with this. I just don't want to risk a relapse as it's a fairly recent detox. Anyone have any advice

Many congratulations and well done to your fiancé for sticking with the detox. I’m not sure of your budget, but it might be an idea to get married at about 2pm at a nice hotel and then all have afternoon tea together. Good luck x

How about doing a fancy afternoon tea for your reception? Finger sandwiches, fancy cakes, scones with jam and cream, fresh strawberries, tea, coffee and real lemonade. You could make it look really pretty and celebratory.

If you’re not one for a lot of personal tizzying, perhaps get the first registry office appointment of the day and then go for a nice brunch somewhere or get it catered at home,

Then you can make a long lazy day of it.

Congrats! Thete are some many lovely daytime wedding options.
The plannkng should be the fun part! Afternoon tea weddings are gorgeous, or picnics too. It's easier to avoid alcohol woth and afternoon tea theme.

If you have a meal in a restaurant there's the risk of people ordering their own drinks.

You could also hire a small venue like am air bnb and book a private chef so you control the menu.

Yes!!! A friend of mine recently got married at 10am (she wasn't at all into the idea of wanting a "bridal glam" look that would have taken hours to get ready beforehand) and then had a brunch afterwards in her in-laws' garden. Her husband is very into making fancy coffees so made lovely ones for everyone and we had pastries, fruit and some bacon cooked on the BBQ - it was absolutely fantastic. No alcohol needed.

Recently got married in registry office, close family only then onto a sit down meal (chose Mel options prior to this) in. Private room of a hotel with restaurant. My MIL arranged this and arranged the drinks for the table which included alcohol free champagne for a toast and just juices and elderflower water
