Hello all
We have minimal budget and it is second time around for us.

Registry office booked for a maximum of 50 people including registrars near to our house.

We are thinking of having everyone back to ours for a delicious buffet beef and while salmon with new potatoes, homemade coleslaw and salads. No sit down meal just hire in some tea chest tables and chairs.

Am wondering (a) what do where - something simple definitely and thing cream or else won't feel like the bride? Something in my hair? Any suggestions gratefully received.
(b) would we want to have more formal or catered for bubbles at a local hotel or pub on the way back? (C) if we plant loads of tulip bulbs in the autumn that would do for flowers in jam jars wouldn't it (d) can you have bridesmaids at a registry office. Is it worth it? We have a range of daughters and nieces from 2-20 who would love to rock a weddingy frock.

Surely no need for hair and makeup I can do my own. A playlist on a Bluetooth speaker

Oh yes what music do we have at the registry office?

Any creative low budget ideas to help make this a lovely family orientated special day on a low budget very much appreciated!

We had an extremely small wedding (25). I personally think a buffet at home sounds so stressful. Who will prepare the food? Will you have enough plates/cutlery/glasses? And clean up?! If you hire a caterer it could be very expensive.
What we did was call around to restaurants to see if they could handle a large party and eventually found a nice pub. It was not overpriced because they didn’t do ‘wedding menus’. They took orders ahead of time so everyone got what they wanted. We sent the menu with the invite.
We got married in the morning, had lunch at the pub and cake at our house.
Some ways we saved money:
I bought dried flower bouquets etc on etsy. They were gorgeous and arrived well ahead of the day, no stress.
My dress was a pale lavender pretty dress I found online for 250. My DH wore a nice suit.
I took a makeup lesson at Bobbi Brown and did my own. Their makeup is expensive but I didn’t need everything and of course you get to keep the makeup. My normal hairdresser did my hair and just charged me same as a haircut.
We got a tiny cake and no one cared. We also had cupcakes. There was still tons leftover.

That sounds really lovely @ABwithAnItch

I've been looking at some bargain dresses on Vinted

I do like the idea of heading to a pub but hate sit down meals as get annoyed I can't talk to all the people.
Our house is big and we have loads of family who like cooking so I think the buffet will be cool. Keeping it simple but high quality and plentiful.
Might need to get others to bring plates.
I could ask guests to bring a pudding maybe.
