Can anyone help with advice on how to arrange a wedding in Spain. The bride is English and the groom is from Belgium and they will marry in Spain.

I have looked on the web and there is lots of advice but I would like to put together a to do and timeline and costs.

I am married in Spain. English.

Each should see their own lawyer is my absolute sterling advice.
The marital regime is very unfavorable indeed for some. The paperwork will take at least a year.

Congratulations 🥂 ..
It will always depend on the region you intend to marry - each has their own “rules” which are always going to be confusing at best and most definitely will involve a shit load of apostled paper work…. In triplicate

My advice would be to do yourselves a massive favour, do the legals in uk or Belgium at the registry office (or Belgian equivalent) and have a celebrant led ceremony wherever you’d like.
If you want to marry in church involve a planner who knows the officials at the town hall and the priest.

We live in Spain, and chose to go over to Gibraltar to get married - there is a lot of paperwork to marry in Spain, and it's a long process.
Much much easier in Gibraltar.

Just to add the groom is a Spanish resident if that makes any difference?

I think I would do a registrar wedding in the UK too and have a celebration in Spain. Unless you're really very familiar with Spanish Divorce Law.
