Invitations and Addresses

Most of our guests (we're only having an evening reception) will be friends rather than relatives and we don't know full postal addresses for a large number of them, we communicate by phone, text, social media etc. Some have moved house etc.

I was thinking we could send a digital save the date card (individually) and ask people to let us have their address for the invitation.

Does that sound ok, anyone had a similar issue?

That sounds super normal, I've had lots of invites that are a digital save the date followed by a request for a postal address, go for it.

Yes that sounds good. And people are more likely to remember it if it’s on their phone anyway.. I always take photo of invitations

That sounds like a good idea! I’m in the same situation, I’ve considered sending my evening guests an electronic invite only because I don’t have postal addresses, but your solution sounds better!

Even though it'll be a fairly informal event I still need a decent idea of numbers for the catering (it'll be a meal not a buffet) so I was thinking a paper invitation in the post with the option to send a response by email.

My Fiancé gets invites to parties and suchlike by text or social media and doesn't reply and then when he's chased I get it dropped on me at the last minute.
