Mistake When Giving Notice of Marriage

Hi all! I went to give notice of marriage a few days ago and just realised I made a small mistake in the spelling of not one but both of my parent's middle names! 😳

I did get the names correct but missed 1 letter from my dad's middle name (it's a common name but his is spelt in a unique way) and spelt my mum's name in a different variation (think Rachel vs Racheal type name).

I was expected to be asked their names but for some reason didn't think that they'd want middle names too so just answered quickly under pressure. How bad/big of a deal is this?

Do I need to call the register office and correct this now or will I have the chance to do this on the day of the marriage when they go over details with us again? Is this even a big deal to need to be corrected at all? From what I understand, their names are just kind of on there for the sake of it and have no real implication on anything.

Thanks in advance to anyone with advice!

I would give them a call now, just to make sure that there are no issues further down the line. They may well say it's not a problem, but better safe than sorry.

You may have the answer to this already but this is something that will easily be sorted out on the day of the ceremony when you go over the paperwork with the registrar.

No idea, but I wouldn't worry too much. Our marriage certificate has a mistake, as it shows my husband's age as 24 but, in fact, he was 25 when we got married (he was 24 when we gave notice, 2 months previously).
I don't think this makes the marriage invalid - or maybe it does, and I could have been enjoying life as a single person for all these years!
