Half day photography?

I have just booked my photographer!

Slightly cold feet as we have gone for a half day option which I think is the right choice but I can’t shake the nagging feeling we will be missing out on something.

We booked this because our ceremony is not until 4pm and honestly the bridal prep shots sound like my own personal idea of hell so paying for 10-12 hours seemed like a huge waste of money.

We are paying £500 for a “half day package” which will cover the ceremony through to just after the first dance and a USB of photos.

Do you think it sounds okay?

I'm in the same position as you! We have paid £525 for 3 hours, it was the cheapest I could find in the area without going for someone who had only just started doing it in their spare time etc.

I like her style and she knows the area well so £525 seemed reasonable compared to the other £800+ quotes we had been getting.

So your £500 seems reasonable too! Unless we have both been ripped off 😂

I did the same!! I didn't want photos of me looking stressed getting makeup done etc 😂 it turned out fab, photos from arriving at the church, ceremony and with friends and family after 😊 they're the only bits I wanted to remember in photographs tbh!

Thanks @DearDiary321 @yonce that makes me feel better. I was getting quotes in the region of £1-1.5k (and even higher, I saw one for £3k!!!) for a whole day photos and it just seems like a crazy amount of money.

We got married a few months ago and it was the best day of our lives - now, what remains are the photos. We're so glad that we got the best photographer we could afford, because those memories are literally priceless.

Having said that, we also went for less than a full day. I didn't have any prep photos (also couldn't stand the idea!) and we didn't have full evening coverage.

It's quality, not quantity - a few photos from a very good photographer is better than a huge amount from someone whose style you don't like. But don't underestimate the importance of photos!
