Favours or not?

Do people still do wedding favours for their guests? I'm unsure on what to do. Every wedding I've been to I've rarely taken the wedding favour home. Thanks in advance :)

We’re having a small wedding and so it’s not so costly. We did little jars of local strawberry jam.

I agree with previous posts that something edible or something like lottery/scratch cards are better than some trinket. Shot glasses etc just end up in drawers or binned.

Very few things about our country house wedding followed the usual traditions. No white dress, no church, we walked in together so no giving away.

Sugared almonds are one of my most favourite things. I wasn't very busy in the run up so ordered sugared almonds wholesale, mostly white with a smaller amount of gold fool wrapped chocolate almond shapes. With the aid of some fine gauze and ribbon made them up as favours.

They looked quite lovely on the tables.

They all disappeared although there were some of the foil wrappings left in the tables.

I had plenty more in the box. Delicious.
