The engagement ring and wedding ring are very important to me, I don't know which one to wear, but my friend said just wear the one looks better.

Nah, just chuck it in the bin.

@dfendyr Yes, my husband and I were happily together for many years. I never doubt his love. And I felt lucky that I found him.

Tinabay · 10/03/2022 11:59

@dumdumduuuummmmm It means a man only could customize a ring for the only lover of his lifetime, it is the buying rule for this brand.

Customise? What does that mean? If they divorced would they shop not sell the man another ring in the future then?

My engagement ring is a large cocktail style ring so wearing both rings on the same finger doesn’t look good with mine. I wear my wedding ring on my left hand and engagement ring on right hand - usually only for special occasions because it’s quite chunky.

I keep my wedding ring on all the time. Put the engagement one on with it when going out, to work etc

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have to say this is the strangest thread I've read in a while

@dumdumduuuummmmmm As I know, they will not sell to this person again, because they value one-to-one loyal relationships and encourage the continuation of true love. They will make the rules clear to you before you buy, and if you are willing to accept "one can only customize for the only love", you can make a successful purchase. If you want to buy another diamond ring for another woman later, they will verify your identity and if they screen that you have already bought for someone else, they will not sell it to you.

BunsyGirl · 21/03/2022 06:22

I wear my wedding ring on my right hand and my engagement on my left as it’s quite a large marquise cut and I didn’t like any of the wedding rings that fitted round it. My wedding ring is half eternity style with baguette diamonds so looks nice on its own.

That is a terrible business model

toomuchlaundry · 21/03/2022 08:41

@Tinabay what happens if the wife dies and the man remarried, would they not let him buy another ring?

That's hilarious. Will the man decide not to leave his wife, then, because he'd have to buy the other woman's ring from a different shop?!

Not that I imagine they'd put up much of a fight against a returning customer. "I want to buy this £5k ring" "I'm sorry sir, but you've already bought a ring, we can't sell you another" "I have five grand burning a whole in my pocket" "We really can't... Unless... Maybe you have a really good reason...?" "Oh, yes, really good reason, err, yes, first wife left me, blah blah... Definitely true love this time!" "Right this way sir...."

A hole!! A hole!!!!

dfendyr · 21/03/2022 11:39

not only is it marketing bullcrap shit - its also sexist fucking wank

“I took a single female friend to Darry Ring, hoping to cheer her up as her good friend with some window-shopping on Chinese Valentine’s Day,” a female Weibo user wrote. “They told us we couldn’t buy a ring: They’d need to see a man’s ID card for that.”

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 21/03/2022 12:43

“A Darry Ring is a symbol of a man’s desire to marry a woman and the ultimate commitment to being her partner for life,” the Darry Ring employee said in a chat conversation on Taobao, an online marketplace under Alibaba. “Women can’t just purchase a ring for themselves,” she added.

Good god, what a load of wank.
