Make your own bouquet?

I was thinking of making my own. I quite like simple ones of all the same flower so thinking it hopefully shouldn’t be too difficult. Am I wrong? Did you do it? How’d it turn out?
When did you make it? The day before?

I did my own last year and did my sisters a few years ago. I went to the flower shop a few weeks before so I could order in what I wanted and picked them up the day before and arranged them. Make sure you have florist wire, florist tape and ribbon or something to cover the florists tape plus pins to hold the ribbon in place.
I also did button holes for ask the guests (only 20 guests)

I made mine the day before too. I bought all the flowers for the day wholesale and did them all myself which was a bit too much work in reality but I did enjoy doing the bouquets! You can definitely do it yourself, lots of images and inspo online! Xo

I got mine made, cornflowers, erygnium and stuff. It lasted about a week without wilting as he’d sealed the stems and stuff and put other flowers upside down in water. So I’d say look up tips on keeping each individual flower non wilting over the day.

Yes get yourself a floristry kit - quite cheap on Amazon. Have a look on YouTube, and I'd probably do a few practise runs too!

I went to tesco and bought a few bunches of flowers and my mum reassembled them, they looked beautiful. We did it the day before, put some tape round the stems and a bit of ribbon

Years ago I did all my own flowers but decided that for my own sanity I would use artificial flowers and it was great as I could do it all well ahead and take them apart endlessly to get it right. Several friends did the same and one made a beautiful feature table light from her calla lilly bouquet afterward

My cousin made her sisters bouquets using flowers from the garden. She had a practice the night before just to make sure they looked ok. They looked amazing but would have been droopy if made the night before.

I made SIL’s, and the bridesmaids’.

We just had roses. Different colours for the bride’s and bridesmaids’. Took the thorns off, made a bouquet, wrapped in ribbon and ta-dah! They’re were fine in water overnight.

They’re were lovely, and more elegant than a fussy bouquet with several different flowers. And a tonne easier of course.

I got a hand tied bouquet from a florist. I explained what I wanted- something that looked like I'd made it- and she put together a flat backed bunch with greenery and roses. She knew what pitfalls there might be, how to keep it fresh, and how to shape it. They were lovely, and inexpensive.

Has anyone managed to get their flowers direct off the wholesalers/ markets?
Looks like a closed shop around here unless you are trade.
