How much would you pay for flowers?

Due to get married in December.. and two of the florists I've been in touch with have asked for a minimum spend of 2k. I'm a little shocked as i wasn't planning to spend 2k on flowers.
Can I ask how much you paid or would pay for your wedding flowers? I am scared of getting in touch with florists now 😂
TIA x

We paid just over £1k in London, December 2019, which covered bridal bouquet, about 6 buttonholes for men, 2 corsages for mums, table displays for 9 tables and delivery and setup.

We were lucky in that our venue decorated for Christmas anyway, so we had 2 beautiful Xmas trees, a mantelpiece display and window display and two outdoor wreaths in the mix without us paying for them - any chance your venue does anything similar?

I was also shocked at the minimum spend numbers from some florists but also get why, we just didn't have the budget to spend that taking into account all the other costs.

We just paid £1k for ours, bride, maid of honour & 3 bridesmaids bouquets, 11 button holes, church arch and pedestal, 10 pew ends.
We had herbs as our table names so had herb displays on the tables.
My mum did the church windowsill decorations.
Our flowers were fantastic, but our quotes ranged from £80-£3000 !

I'm going to be doing flowers for a family members wedding in a couple of months time. For the whole package (table centrepieces, a couple of large focal arrangements, bouquets, buttonholes) it'll cost them around £500 for flowers at the wholesalers (my time will be free), plus I'll be foraging for foliage and fillers from my garden. They're saving a huge amount by not using a florist (I'm not a florist but I am a prize winning amateur with several weddings under my belt, so they're still in safe hands!).

My mum and I went to Covent Garden market early in the morning the day before and bought loads of stuff. She’s not trained but is good at floristry and we wanted a more informal look (I did order bouquets of roses from M&S for me and my bridesmaids, along with cake…I don’t think they do wedding bouquets or cakes any more, sadly). We had use of the venue from the afternoon before the wedding and lots of lovely family and friends came to help us decorate (and eat snacks and drink fizz). It was a lovely way to get ready for the festivities and we were so grateful to everyone who helped out!
