Would you have a photographer for a registry office wedding?

Really want some nice photos after the ceremony before we go for our meal. However the registry office is a bit of a eye sore and the park behind it isn't great? Don't know whether to bother or not.

What does everyone think Grin

A good photographer can make an ugly building look edgy and cool! If you want photos then definitely get them.

This is the registry office, yes your probably right I don't think photos on our phone will be good enough.

Oh definitely. We had one. Only cost £100 but we only wanted some nice photos of the day of us two, plus family.

It's my only wedding day regret that we didn't have a dedicated person taking photos of our low key wedding. Cobbling together mobile pics was a bit disappointing in terms of looking back on a happy day.

Definitely, my dh is a wedding photographer and he could definitely capture some lovely portraits in a small space. In fact your registry office has more green space than our 2 local ones.

Yes - it's your special day, which hopefully will be something to remember for the rest of your lives!

We have found, as we got older and been to lots of places, that it's the photos of our family and friends that mean the most to us, rather than where they are (ie the scenery in the background)! Your wedding day is a day, when you have as many of them in one place as possible (ie you can afford at the reception)!

I got married for the second time 2 years ago and I really regret not having a professional photographer now. We have a few decent pics of the ceremony but at the evening reception the guest who had promised to take pics only took a handful so we could barely scrape a small album together.

We did abs so glad we did.

Photographer was one of our witness!

I used to be a registrar until recently and I loved having photographers at register office weddings. Some of the loveliest ceremonies have been in the register office.
Most register office ceremonies have a photographer or at least a family member with a 'proper' camera.
Hope you have a fantastic day!

If you want decent photos, absolutely worth it. Amateur photos are rarely well lit, well composed, or frankly anything better than holiday snaps.

A pro photographer will also know how to make the best of your surroundings. I used to live opposite a registry office that was a beautiful Tudor building with a pretty little garden at the front. It was also in the middle of a retail park next to B&Q and a car park, and with our block of flats opposite. I can't tell you how many wedding parties lined up for mates photos with us or B&Q in the background.
