Wedding favours

Hey future brides,
What’s everyone’s thoughts on wedding favours ? I’m really not sure about them - if I was to go down the route of favours I wouldn’t get anything personalised (I hated them when I’ve attended weddings).
I’ve been looking at some ideas but there’s nothing really grabbing my attention.
What did you all do ? 👰‍♀️

I didn’t even know they were a ‘thing’ . Enjoy your wedding.

@SummaLuvin

Just in case anyone is here looking for inspiration to best one I saw at the venue was by a chocolate obsessed couple. Each table was named for a different Cadbury chocolate bar and favours were a full sized bar to match the table name. It was nice as everyone ate the chocolate and got guests chatting as they were swapping and bartering - but then I'm not sure if it was those particular guests that made it work, not the favour itself.
That’s a really nice idea actually. We had boxes of specialty biscuits for the guests and found they were a talking point and guests were swapping flavours too.

We did a pick and mix bar (pre covid obvs- would be a hygiene nightmare now 😂) the bags doubled as place settings on people’s plate with a sticker on them. My dad said all the people he saw walking out and their bags full to the brim and there weren’t many sweets left so didn’t feel wasteful & was fairly cheap.

I made a donation to Cancer Research (personal connection to it) and they sent the number of pins that I asked for. Used those as favours.

We’re having lovely little biscuits from a seller on Etsy- mix of lavender and lemon and thyme flavour

We had little candles for the women, and novelty bow ties in crazy patterns for the men! We got some great pics of everyone wearing the bow ties, and I wish I'd found something silly for the women as well. We also had a little station with 'tattoos' and fancy dress bits - funny glasses etc. By the end of the night people were wandering around with tattooed faces! Adults and children loved it and it added some fun after a few drinks.

We did small bottles of Quince brandy for people’s Christmas cakes. They went in the wedding ‘goody bags’.

We are getting married at the end of the month and having mini bottles of wine from a local winery for the adults, and little chocolate Lego figures for the kids. I agree that favours are not necessary, but I think a nice touch!

We contacted our local cancer research office - bought a load of their charity pins and they put them on cards for us that said we'd made a donation to them to celebrate our marriage. Went down well and felt more worthwhile than a pointless gift for the sake of it
