Wedding with 3 month old?

My friend has just rescheduled her wedding - the original date I couldn’t attend as it was right around my due date! The new date is 3 months later - so baby will be 3 months old!

She’s text me saying it’s great that il be able to come now to the new date :)

I’m unsure though - first of all it’s my first baby and I’m not sure how it’s all going to go, whether I’d be up for it or not - I’m thinking il have to start getting used to attending things baby in tow BUT

it’s in Ireland - (where we are both from) I live in the U.K. - so id have to fly home to Ireland in advance and then hire a car and drive 2 hours to attend - also there is no accommodation on site so we’d have to stay in a hotel a bit away from the venue! I had thought maybe we drive down and stay for the ceremony and meal then drive back to my parents house that evening as an option.

Tbh I’m not even sure I’d get a passport for baby in time and whether I’m being crazy to even think about travelling that much with a tiny baby!

I could leave baby with my parents perhaps but I plan on breastfeeding so it might be difficult!

My friend is very sensitive and I know she’d take us declining very personally and she’d be upset with me!

What would you do? Am I mad to even be considering it ?

I travelled to another country when my baby was 6 weeks old. It was very stressful. If you leave her with your mum at that age, you'll have to do mixed feeding to prepare her for it, and a lot of pumping while your away.

Ps I got a passport by doing same day appointment at the london office.

You won't need a passport if you get the ferry over. Would also mean you have your own car rather than hiring one, and you can stuff all the baby stuff in the boot rather than stress at the airport.

Actually had thought of driving over although it be a 5 hour drive to Holyhead from where we live which is a bit epic ! @TheCraicDealer
What can you use as ID for the baby (I always still need to show a drivers license or something even on the ferry)

Il want to be paying a visit to family at some point at home anyway to intro new arrival so am thinking could make it part of a longer trip back I suppose and get home a while before the wedding to relax at my folks house - then the travelling is not all at once!
